Hiya all,
I have been a long time reader, first time poster.
I am looking at proposing next month, and have saved hard for a ring fund, but I want it to be something special. I dont think I can afford to go abroad for the occasion so does anyone have any recomendations for the UK of a romatic location? Or maybe somewhere abroad that is cheap?
Also any experiances from you guys?
Thanks in advance.

I would get a cheap flight to Athens, you can get them for under £100, book a hostel or a cheap hotel. Once in Athens, go to the port where you can go island hopping really really cheap. We went to the 2nd nearest island for under £10 return and it was absolutely beautiful. I was on a strict budget and did the whole 5 day trip, everything included for £220
I'll have a think about UK places

Sounds like a nice idea, I will look into the pricing.
Any idea how to pull of the trip to somewhere abroad without anyone twigging?0 -
I think the top of the london eye, not as romantic as the Empire state but good all the same. You could always have dinner at the old county hall building afterwards, decor is fantastic and the food brill!Bewitched2761

Don't do what my DH did - propose at home when I've got my head down the loo being sick.

My suggestion would be somewhere that is special to you and your partner. What would she consider to be romantic?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
on the beach at sunset would have been my ideal place but hubby asked me on our spare double bed after we had just made it up for visitors.
so anywhere can be special!
good luck!

Where did you first meet? Or your first date? Probably not so good if you met in a smokey nightclub like myself & my OH though !!!
We got engaged on the Eiffel Tower on Christmas Day ! (I had it all planned...!)
I don't think it will matter where you are tbh, once that diamond comes out of that box, she won't care !!!I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D0 -
When I proposed to my wife I did it when we returned to the place we met. If you met in a dingy pub or a library why not go back to where you had your first 'proper' date?0

my OH proposed by bringing me a tray with breakfast in bed and asking then - I twigged the moment I saw the tray, he never went to that much trouble before! :rotfl:
It really depends on you as a couple, I would say that asking is more important than the staging of it...0 -
Oxwich bay, gower, near swansea! Absolutly beautiful, and theres a lovely hotel there too which rents out private 'cottage' type things...You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....
