Well it does appear that you have finally conceded that they came here for the benefits - good luck to them, but do not expect those that are forced to pay to be too happy about it.Because they live in the UK now how do you expect them to claim benefits in spain when they dont live there. Same as here if you dont live here you cant claim. Did you not know that ??? Thought you were an expert ???
They live here now so what is the point in going on about spanish benefits. Or do you expect them to return to spain just because YOU are not happy about it. GET OVER IT ! Second word LOWLIFE!0 -
Spanish is not a race, it is a nationality which is a political definition.
I wasnt talking about spanish you are against all foreigners it seems. I wonder if you spout out all this bull crap to your foreign neighbours? To their faces i bet you dont. And you are making out it my fault that the spanish system wont help them. Do you pick on everyone on here? Or is it just me ? I would love to meet you face to face i bet your a little man as you seem to have the little man syndrome all mouth and no trousers!0 -

She hasn't said that at all, you are twisting her words! They came here from what I understand because there is no future for them in Spain and I think I would agree with them on that, Spain is more down the pan than we are, so I would make that same rational choice that they made, also the daughter needs her mum, her mum is here to help and support a young mother with 2 young children and hard circumstances. The Spaniard I think will have more chance of getting a job here rather than in his home country of Spain. If they got a bit of help, this is one family that could prosper by coming home here and building a future. Give the poor guy a chance! he's just trying to do the best he can for his partner and kids and to be quite frank, that's at this moment in time being in the UK and not Spain!0 -

I dont care if your happy about it im actually glad its winding you up. You deserve it. They will try and claim benefits until they are on their feet.
So Adios Tonto.0 -
I have plenty of "foreign" friends and neighbours. Not one of them turned up in this country and expected the UK state to support them.I wasnt talking about spanish you are against all foreigners it seems. This thread has got very distasteful. We are all human beings and to fight with strangers so nastily online behind keyboards is not nice. At the end of the day the OP came here for help and she's had her face slapped by people who should be offering helpful advice not bashing her in this way. It would be more helpful if maybe everyone took a deep breathe and calmed down a bit remembered about the milk of human kindness. LIfe isn't fair, the benefits system isn't fair, the taxes I freakin' pay aren't fair, we all get a raw deal in different ways to others, but one thing we can all show is compassion and to be too judgmental isn't nice.0

I don't know whether the OP lives in Scotland but I thought that the ILA had to be used for vocational courses rather than Adult Education. Mind you, I'm not very up on the Scottish system.
Not really
I have done various PT courses myself at Edinburgh Uni
These can be done for credit by completing essays & exam in the 13th week
or without credit missing the 13th week0 -

Think you have hit the nail on the head there Suburbanwifey!.
Can you imagine going to the CAB or a Welfare Rights centre in person and asking about benefit advice and then they turn around and slap you in the face for asking? It just doesn't happen in real life does it?
It is much more easier to attack someone on-line as no one can see you.
Incidentally,it has always intrigued me about how some posters who love to climb on their high horses and shout their mouths off about benefit claimants. Naming no names but there is one poster on this thread who has been rather judgemental to the Op in his posts who has surprisingly asked for advice in the past about a certain benefit himself!
You know the old saying..people in glass houses....0 -
It's not about benefits as such, more who should be entitled to UK payouts and who should not.bloomingflower wrote: »Think you have hit the nail on the head there Suburbanwifey!.
