Unfortunately a lot of those in employment have to live in damp flats and drab clothes as that's often all they can afford.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Have you thought about changing your username to benefitbashers? You say it often enough!0 -
I feel really sorry for the lady who started this thread asking for help. My opinion? as a high rate tax payer who has never claimed benefits? I think its shocking that this lassie, her kids and her man are not getting a penny help. Of course they came back from Spain, his unemployment there made their life there a no hoper, so they came here to make a fresh start in the UK. She is British, and so are her kids, they are entitled as far as I am concerned. How come Polish can claim benefits, health care and everything else from my country when this British lass and her kids cannot? I'm in her corner. OP, ignore the cruel people who are giving you a hard time. By the grace of God go they, hope they never suffer hard times!0

I don't think this is about benefit bashing, but about foreigners expecting to turn up and get given money for nothing.0

Ah, so you're a bigoted/rascist benefits basher/Daily Fail reader, real scum then, how lovely, tolerance and kindness alive and well in Camerons Britain
The OP, her daughter and daughters children are British btw, I realise you have problems with reading and or comprehension so I thought I would point out the obvious.Love many, trust few, learn to paddle your own canoe.
“Don’t have children if you can’t afford them” is the “Let them eat cake” of the 21st century. It doesn’t matter how children got here, they need and deserve to be fed.0 -
Adult Education classes are very expensive these days.
depends where you are
in Scotland we have the ILA 200 offering £200 towards part time study(in some courses)Applying for support
You can use ILA funding with over 430 approved learning providers across Scotland, offering around 26,000 courses. These include colleges, universities, private training providers, voluntary and community-based providers and distance-learning providers. Application forms and further information including information on learning provider registration is available from the ILA Scotland helpline on 0808 100 1090 or by visiting https://www.ilascotland.org.uk.0 -

I'm not sure anyone in this country is given anything for nothing. From what I read in the press and on here, anyone who gets even a penny out of this measly Govt (and previous one's) are put through the ringer until they are rung dry. Demoralised, humiliated, having their dignity stripped with every hundred page form they have to fill in. One seems to have to sell one's soul for 71 pounds a week (if you are single and no kids) and to me, that's no party.0 -

Daughters children are dual nationality so Spanish taxpayer has just as much liability as British. Why should the whole bill fall to the UK?
Because they chose to come to this country which is their right under European movement law and because those children are British and so is that girl. You seem quite heartless. I hope you never suffer a situation that lands you in the same mess.0
