It's not about benefits as such, more who should be entitled to UK payouts and who should not.

and it's up to you to decide who is 'entitled'?

“Don’t have children if you can’t afford them” is the “Let them eat cake” of the 21st century. It doesn’t matter how children got here, they need and deserve to be fed.

Sorry not a clue what your talking about this thread is so long i must have missed these posts. I dont live in scotland i live in Cambridge.
    Why didn't you say ;)?

There are tonnes of night and day cleaning jobs on the science parks and university depts., hospital - many have little english. There is also a lot of kitchen work in canteens. There's a lot of NMW work, there is an agency on REgent St. that does kitchen work and one on Newmarket Road that does warehouse/driving

There is an immigration legal advice centre on Newmarket Road near the Grafton Centre https://cilc.co.uk/ and there (or at least used to be) one on Mill Road.

Made a mistake saying you live in Cambridge, you will be bombarded with links saying that there are literally thousands of jobs waiting to be snapped up :(

    The reality is different though

This copied from a january 2012 article

Rich Rippin, central services manager at youth support service, Cambridge’s Centre 33, warned it was no time to be complacent.
In the last three months of 2011, the service saw twice as many under-25s coming to them for help with housing – suggesting significant job uncertainty in the younger population.
He added they had 70 applications for a 12-hour a week administration job at the centre

We struggle to get staff - mainly because NMW doesn't pay enough to rent privately; having said that 17years working in the city and still can't afford to live there - the housing lists are insanely long. Centre 33 also deals with the young folk with the most challenging lives i.e. big obstacles to employment

centre 33 might be a good contact: http://www.centre33.org.uk/what-we-do/Housing%20&%20living%20skills.html
