I've just had the call. I chatted to the lovely guy who rang and he told me that they were ringing around thousands of people and were just getting a pile of abuse. I actually think it is pretty decent of Littlewoods to honour one candle - I followed the L'occitane glitch and the Benefit glitch and didn't get any communication. It must also be costing them a fair amount to call everyone personally. It isn't the fault of any of the people in the call centre.
I'm sure all MSEers are really nice but can I suggest we are EXTRA nice to the people who call us and give them a good review in the survey that follows?
I think this reflects very well on shopdirect/Littlewoods.
Spot on.
Reading some of the responses over on Hot Deals, it's disgraceful. Kicking off on the poor soul on the phone....asking people where they stand legally etc.
Some misprices you win, but most you lose & almost every company will simply email you with the bad news & if you're lucky, a £2.00 voucher off your next purchase.
Littlewoods have gone above & beyond IMO. Though I will say that it wasn't an obvious misprice as £8 is beyond the realms of possibility!0 -
Hi All,
On the 2nd January 2013, certain Yankee Candle products were incorrectly priced on our website. This error was identified and corrected on the same day.
Whilst it is always our intention to keep our website up to date and error free, pricing errors can occasionally occur.
On this occasion, as a gesture of goodwill, we will honour all those customers that placed an order, 1 Yankee Candle product each at the reduced price which was advertised when they placed their order.
We will therefore be contacting all customers directly over the coming days to advise them of our next steps. (If you didn’t place an order, unfortunately we will not be able to honour the reduced price)
Many Thanks
Lizzie
Littlewoods Help Team.
I had the call from Littlewoods today. However my order was placed on 3 January, the day AFTER the misprice was supposed to have been corrected according to the statement above.
Despite advising two different advisors of this all they could say was that their terms and conditions state that they do not have to selling anything that is mispriced.
As it states above that the misprice was corrected on 2 January, I do not think it is unreasonable for me to expect the price showing on the website the day after the correction to be correct.0 -
Errors and omissions would be cited and would cover them. They don't have to sell you anything if they don't choose to.

I am so impressed with littlewoods, I think what they are doing is more than fair0

I really don't think they are being fair, I ordered manually on the 31st Dec (so lots of staff saw the price and I asked if it was correct). before this "deal" went anywhere online, and I assumed it was the price as I had just bought some Large Jars for £10 the weekend before at HoF. They have now had my money over a week, and still haven't contacted me personally to tell me what is going on. I have emailed and called, and when I called the guy told me there was no chance my order was being cancelled, yet on here there is a rep saying I will only receive one. I'm sorry but if a small business ran a company this way they wouldn't be around for long, so why should the big companies get away with it? While it isn't the person on the phones fault, it is someones fault, and look how long they took to actually correct the mistake, which makes me cynical thinking that they done it to pull customers in..0

I ordered on the 2nd and order went through on credit when I wanted to pay it off. So I called them straight away and made my payment. Yesterday I received an email from very saying my account is now available to view. And just reveived a text saying the same. Checked my account and it shows as £1000 credit available and shows a £34 payment which has been received. Items all showing as sent to supplier with 2 different delivery dates.
Did anyone else receive the text or email. I've received no call yet0 -
@hiccup, I paid mine off instantly, and just got an email saying your statement is ready to view. I'm so confused.. I made a payment of £31 and all items are still showing as sent to supplier also..0

I'm exactly the same as you, I paid in full and have had my first statement. The £8 is next to each candle.
Really Confused, I have missed a phone call however so I'll see if they ring back.0 -
