  • Spent £29.26 in Lidl. I was going to buy a book I saw for £3.99 for ds2. I did put it into the trolley but then thought he didn't really need it. So I put it back again:)
Also didn't buy any chocolate which is normally a necessity. I have been chocolate free for two weeks now.
Now collecting the kids from their dad's then going to visit my mom

  • Finally, at home and about to go to bed. I can't believe how fast the weekend goes and now it is already Monday.

I have put £20 of petrol in the car and I am hoping it lasts more than 3 days. I now have £50 left out of my £100 weekly budget but I still need to pay for :
    • £12.50 for DS2 school breakfast club
    • £11 for DS1 drama club on Wednesday
That will leave me with £26.50 for the rest of the week.
Ds2 had his last swimming lesson last week Monday and will not return in the New year, that will be £40 saved.
DS2 does not want to continue with his drama lessons after his exam on the 16th December, so that will be another £22 a month saved :)

Mom wants me to help out on Saturday again so she may give me another £20.

I should really go to sleep now, I have to be up at 6pm.

    Good night all xx

  • Good morning :)

Ds2 is now at school and this weeks breakfast club has been paid £12.50

DS1 has teachers training day today but was still up early for some reason.
I will be working from home starting at 9:30am so I think I will have to find him something to do around the house.

Every year my sister comes to stay for Christmas and every year I spend Christmas Eve trying to tidy up as much as I can.
Surely, this year can be different? So I have 22 days before her visit, I wonder if I can get this place in order before then.

22 days for 1 hour a day is 22 hours. Just for a bit of fun I will try and clean this house from top to bottom in 22 hours starting from today.
    • I pledge to clean and organise my house in 22 hours which must be done in 22 days or less.
    • I will also be 10st or less by 25th December. (5lbs to lose.)

  • I have just sent Ds1 to his room with a black bin bag and told him to fill it with anything he no longer wants or needs.
    This should be interesting :)

  • That didn't go as well as I planned. Ds1 returned with a not even half full bag which contained last year's school books.
Am I surprised? I should have thought better :)

  • Paid work finished and ds2 is staying at school until after 5pm to tonight. Washing machine now on.
Think I will try and fit the first hour in for clearing out stuff in Ds1 bedroom.

  • 1 hour cleaning done in ds1 bedroom, it now looks so much better.
Ds2 has split his school trousers once again, this time it can't be repaired :(
Having a little time out now and I will then attempt to do something else.

  • I now have £38.24 left in my purse and £11 will be for DS1 drama lesson tomorrow.
That will be £27.24 to last until Saturday. I do also have an emergency £20 stashed away just in case something comes up.

I have joined the pay 1 debt in 100 days 14 and also the SPC 14 to help me stay on track.

I have one credit card with a balance from when we went away in August but I want to clear that in full and have a zero balance in the new year.

  • I am hanging my head in shame.

It doesn't matter how long I have been debt busting there is always something that can be improved.

Due to my own stupidity I have been a very bad girl. You would think by now I would have learnt not to bury my head in the sand.

I had signed DS2 up to reading chest @ £9.95 per a month. I have miss placed two of the reading books and thought I would eventually find them, but I haven't.

I have now cancelled my subscription and paid for the lost books which were only £4 each. I would have done this months ago and saved my self over £80 :(

I did also make another financial error which I have now corrected but too embarrassed to confess more than one thing.

Newlifeahead - you will live and learn :)
