Just ordered ds1 school shoes on line from Clarks via quidco 12% discount and a Clarks discount code which also gives 20% discount
He is going to hate them but serves him right. I used to always buy Clarks shoes because they last a whole year but since he has been in high school he has had cheap shoes which are slightly more fashionable but don't last long at all.

Let's see if he would like to play football in these

  • Also just had a call from someone trying to sell insurance for the sky box. At first it sounded like she was from sky (thought she was going to offer me some kind of discount) but she wasn't.
I told her I don't even subscribe to sky so why would I want to pay insurance for it. Money down the drain? I think not :money:

Hope you don't mind me unlurking today. Have you considered getting caller ID. I have had it for a few years when I got the letter saying they were going to charge for it. I rang and asked if I did currently have it (I asked only not whinged although I felt like it) and they gave me next year free, I couldn't believe it. I just thought it might be an idea for you, then you could choose when to take those calls. It is also better sometimes that small people with big ears do not hear the conversations which stress their mothers. The charge is not exactly MSE but there are some things which are definitely worth the outlay.

    Hi Patanne :j
I do have caller ID which is free through my job. Unfortunately, caller id doesn't help when the ex calls. If I don't answer the house phone he calls my mobile and will continue to call or send a text message until I answer, I work from home so he knows I am here.
I wouldn't mind if he wanted to be in a proper grown up relationship but he just wants me at his beck and call.
I find the whole situation so frustrating he doesn't want me to get on with my life and find someone else that will make me happy, and he finds all the excuses in the world why we can't be a proper family and at least live in the same house instead of him living 5 minutes around the corner.

Caller id and choose to refuse was amazing when I was first dealing with my debt. I only wish I could send one of those "don't call me, you can only write" letters to my ex. That would cause a riot :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Managed to get a couple more Christmas presents and used quidco and a discount code, spent £71.98 which is £1.98 over the extra Christmas budget. I will do the rest of the Christmas shop tomorrow.

I have also decided to take the plunge and have paid £141 for BT Line rental saver. I will save monthly over the next year to pay this again when it is time to renew it.

Only other spend was £1 for ds2 school project.

  • I am thinking about getting a Ovivo sim with the initial cost of £20
    With free allowance,

    • 200 Mins
    • 300 Texts
    • 500MB Data
    • £0 per month!
This will be for ds1 as I currently pay £8.50pm for the same thing and will be a saving of £82 for the first year excluding the £20 fee.

If it's any good I may go for it too and save the £10.50pm I pay for my own mobile.

  • I thought I was going to have a lovely afternoon with ds1. He has a drama exam in about 2 hours and we were going to go shopping straight afterwards being as we would already be in town.
DS2 went to his boys brigade bowling competition with his dad. Now his dad has asked why he can't come shopping with us later.
    Noooooooooooo why me:(
I was so looking forward to it and now feel like I just want to come straight home. He makes me feel like I can't say no and I really don't understand why he wants to spend the afternoon with me when we are not even together. :wall:
I just can't get away, I feel really said now and just want to go to bed and cry:(
If anyone is listening up there please let him change his mind, please, pretty please xx
