The final count down:)

Happy New year to all dfw's

I have decided to start a new diary for the final part of my debt busting journey.
This has been a very long process which started 8 years ago. The reality back then hit me very hard, I was 9 months
pregnant, newly single and £59,000 in debt. I never ever thought that I would be able to get my life back on track.

Debts as of 1/1/13
Barclaycard Visa £3993.69
Egg card £4961.59
Total £8955.28

My aim is to clear this by December 2013 - that will be 12 paydays. I have to pull out all the stops if I want to achieve this date and I am willing to do whatever it takes:D
Smile loan - £2821.98 / £0:)
Lloyds CC - £3102.54 / £3071.51
B'Card - £7615.65 / £7444.30
Bank of mom - £6000 / £6000
28/02/17 £ 19,540.17 / £16515.81 05/04/17

  • There are only 3 major things I want to achieve this year.
    1) Clear the debt
    2) Lose 2 stones
    3) Declutter the house.

Every year these are always the things I want to change but I don't get very far and other things just get in the way.
I am so embarrassed to say that I joined slimming world 9 weeks ago and I am 2lbs heavier than when I first started  I actually pay £4.95 a week to put weight on :rotfl:£44.55 down the drain.
I have decided that I have to find another and cheaper way to get rid of this weight. So I will do this slowly and over 12 months

Decluttering - I have been trying to do this forever so like the debt busting and losing weight I will do this over 12 months. I have 6 rooms to declutter 2 months per a room.

Hi newlifeahead- you could make the decluttering work for you, by selling stuff on ebay :)

Well done, you've cleared loads in 8 years :)

Hi WantToBeSE - Thanks ;). Yes, I really need to do this. I haven't really done much ebaying to clear the debt, so I will need to start this as soon as possible :)

  • Hello NewLifeAhead,

I just wanted to wish you the very best of luck. My debt amount was very similar to yours, and I too am hoping to finally shift it in 2013.

Good luck with your January goals - I wanted to have a 'school night' rule too - but as you can see - I am breaking that rule already:mad:

Thanks Elena_Handcart. Good luck to you too, I hope you get to clear it all this year. I am sure it will be a great feeling when we do.:D

The "be in bed by 10pm" is not working at the moment as the kids are off school and are staying up late. As from this Sunday I am hoping to stick to it. (fingers crossed)
