  • I don't know why things can't be simpler.
I had no laptop due to charger being broken. Had to wait for my new work printer to be delivered. It was delivered to my neighbor when I did the school pick up.
Now my internet is not working due to a line fault.
    Great day :-)

Still no internet. I have been told that my modem is quite old now so they will send me a new up to date one for free:j
I should receive it in a few days so I don't mind waiting. I have remembered that I can use my mobile phone for tethering, so I can access the internet that way if needed.

I am still keeping focused money wise and so far haven't been over my budget for last week but I did spend every last penny so nothing saved either:o

Fitness - We (ds1, ds2 and I) have been doing the zombie run (app - someone mentioned this on another thread and I thought I would try it out.) We all hate walking but this app is fab. So far we have done Monday - Friday last week. We even went out in the freezing cold and it was very dark and scarier:eek: Ds 2 who is 8 next week is so up for walking and he has had lots of energy now. I have been cutting down his food intake and making sure he is eat more fruit and veg. (DS2 is slightly overweight and I have seen the doctor about this as he does a lot of activities but seems to get bigger. The idea is to make sure he doesn't put anymore on and not about losing it as this should happen as he gets taller. He will have to go for a 2nd check up in Feb.)

Ds2 has got swimming later and he wants to walk there:eek:. This might take us 45 minutes if we do walk and we have to go up a very steep hill and through some woods (this will be at 6pm). Then we will have to walk back again so we might not get in until 9pm tonight. Being as he is loving it, it's free, it's exercise and fun I will do it. What the heck you only live once.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

No buying from any shopping channel or Groupon. - so far so good. Nothing purchsed, but I have been tempted
Read one of the many unread books I have stored. - haven't started yet
Bed by 10pm on a school night. - 11pm has been the latest so far

I have decided to book the day off work for this Wednesday. I really want to get the office decluttered and the weekends are too busy. I will do this on Wednesday, so the hours I do on a Wednesday (4) will only be used to declutter the office.

I am not going to tell anyone it is my day off because they always give me something to do and I have got my own stuff to take care of:cool: .sshhhhhhhh

  • DS2 swimming lesson was cancelled yesterday and the weather was awful so we were not able to do our long walk after all.

I had the evening free so I made a start in decluttering the office. It did actually start to look worse but it has improved now. I am embarrassed to say I found some Leighton denny stuff I brought from QVC back in September hidden away and never used:eek:

Day off tomorrow and I have already had a head start, but I still have a lot to do. I am really hoping I can get it cleared or almost cleared within the 4 hours.

Laptop now working ok, have now set up wirless printing and also received new replacement modem from BT which has solved my broadband fault:D

Been to visit my Nan in the hospital today, I really need to see her more often even though she sometimes has no idea who I am, but she does make me laugh sometimes ;). I love you nan but curse that dementia

  • Wow - Time waits for no man:rotfl:

    Quick update
    • Nan is out of hospital and doing fine.
    • Office was decluttering and is still clutter free:j
    • No purchased made through QVC, Groupon or anywhere else.
    • DS2 birthday party was a stressful but a great success.
    • Laptop and internet still working ok.
    • Sky has now been switched off and final payment of £6.38 made.
DS1 hasn't noticed yet but DS2 has asked "what's up with sky box? I can't pause rewind or watch anything I have recorded. Mom can you call them and ask them to fix it."
My reply "ok babes I'll call them tomorrow and find out what's wrong." hehehehe:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I am not missing it at all now and I know I will be very happy when I get to spend the money I saved at Christmas on ANYTHING. The only condition is that it has to spent on us and it has to be fun.:D

  • I have had my yearly review with Payplan. Still paying the same amount and I haven't told them I have been overpaying.
I only have two debts now and they both belong to Barclays anyway. I am thinking of doing the dmp myself now but I was worried that Barclaycard would increase the interest charges.

I have checked my credit file and the B'card visa is listed as AP - arrangement to pay. This to me is worse than a default because my other card was defaulted and that is now no longer on my credit file because it is now over the 6 years.

I have spoken to b'card and they have said that my account is not closed (I thought it was) and if I wanted to go back to my normal repayment I would be issued with a new card after 3 months worth of repayments, the account would be treated as normal and the interest rate will increase.

I have had a think about it and being as I am making large repayments now and my balance is now under 3k so even my Payplan repayments will now be more than the min b'card would ask for. I will wait untill my next statement and then come off my payment plan. I am not sure how much interest will then be added to the balance each month but I am guessing over £40-50pm. The 3 month period will take me up to June which is my target for clearing it anyway. (I hope that makes sense.:o)

I am just doing this to get rid of the ap on my credit file before the account is closed and I am not really interested in having the card back.

    Debt be gone.....:D

  • I think I now have a case of Debt busting OCD. I didn't like the 9p balance on on my b'card. Min I can pay via on line banking is £1, then I thought why not get rid of the £20 which would bring the balance down to £2900. Then I didn't want to leave the balance on a odd number, so I have now paid £120.09 and the balance is now

    £2800 .

Phew I feel so much better now :A

  • Payment of £80 made to B' card today. That will be it for this month.

School holidays last week and I had my nephews over for a few days, so a lot of money was spent taking 5 kids bowling. It didn't help having to wait around for over an hour in the arcade.
5 kids, lots of games/machines = lots of money spent.
I am not looking forward to next months credit card bill.:(

Can't wait until payday which will be on Thursday

  • Oh no. I just lost my long update :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    Very short version.

Just logged into Noodle account to check my credit report and my credit rating thingy has changed from 2/5 last month to 5/5 this month.

My final default has dropped off now and everything is green:D

I can't remember what else I typed out. I am now anoyed it disappeared.

Oh yes - 3 more paydays until my B'card visa is cleared.
    10 paydays until debt free:D

It does feel like it is getting harder. I have to keep reminding myself that 8 years ago my debt was almost £60k and now it is just over £7k.

And I did it all on my own :T. I don't normally blow my own trumpet, but it's better doing that than buying myself an expensive treat. (I'll do that next year.) ;)
