Angela - sorry to hear your not well. Hope you get better soon. I remember those diary a with great fondness my mum always had one. She loved the recipes. It was really the only thing she treated herself too

Mum2one - good luck at the dentist , looks like your organisation is going well. Thought mine was , then realised I have virtually nothing for DS but have everyone else covered.

Had a bit of a strange day yesterday, kept thinking it was everyone's birthday and kept asking everyone. Very odd

Rufus - you sound very organised. Just a quickie. Have you enjoyed F1 this year? I don't seem to have, found it boring or is that just me?

Sugarspun - hope your OH found your duck. I can't eat them I tried it once in Germany . Unfortunately had a bit of a language barrier. Chinese in Germany , and ended up with 4 whole ducks. A chicken and various dishes , bit was £164 lol. And that was 20 years ago, never eat a duck since and being OH favourite animal I just can't do it. My friend loves them though

I'm not sure where my Xmas prep is. I'm not sure if I'm ahead of myself or behind , I know there's only 50 days left but there's plenty of time .... Isn't there lol

Furry cake - what about a calendar , a photo one (can get them on line or if you want to diy pound stores usually got them) if you don't want to put family photos you can always get photos of the area she grew up in. Might be worth investigating her bathroom and collecting bits there. I personally love the shampoo and conditioner set from bootsies . You could always get a voucher at her hairdressers or a gift card for a coffee shop

Echo- are you still drawing your pickies

    Have a lovely day everyone

Susan, I have enjoyed it but agree it has been a bit boring. Think that was due to the brits not doing so well this year. Also it seemed that the redbulls were so far in front that no one had a chance against them. It was like putting a top premier football team in the lower leagues for a year and wondering why they won every game.

Sold a cushion last night and my niece is taking bag full of bits in to see if she can sell them at work. Off out today as dad has hospital check up. Will have to try to get to the post office at some time or other wise go up tomorrow and do it.

    bathtub duck!

I can sympathise with the language barrier. Years ago my ex and I were in Paris. I speak French so was doing all the talking, and by the last night thought it was high time he tried. So I went to the bathroom and told him to order. I came back and he told me he'd ordered stir fried tofu in garlic sauce.

He'd ordered beansprouts in garlic sauce. Nothing else.

I thought we`d got lost then, nearly fell off the 2nd page

    You must all be busy.

Got a cracking book from the works yesterday

    puddings

It was only £6.99 and it had a recipe for spotted !!!!!! I`d like to try, been trying to find a good one as my mums recipe she failed to pass on and I did love it.

Been busy crafting away trying to find cheap gifts as stocking fillers. I have sorted out the main presents but what some good qual , low cost things, dont we all

Those fireworks sound great mum2one, I watched out of the window as the weather too cold for me

You seem well organised moneypenny, hows your stocking getting on, it looked that good I ordered one...got a bit carried away and didnt realise it has to come from America.

havnet done much else to the stocking as ive had a couple of little bits i need to get done, one is finsihed but its for a christmas cross stitch exchange on mse so i cant post anything about it as i dont know for sure which boards the recipient visits.
still have to do the house plaque for my DD1 who moved in last weekend so need to get a move on.
have started the back of my christmas jumper that needs sleeves and finishing off. also have all the wips to complete for the christmas fayre at the end of the month so stocking keeps looking at me i want to do more but need to find some more time.
which design did you pick? they are really lovely to do and build up well, just read the instructions all through a couple of times and only cut out the pieces as you need to work on them.

    hope all are well

    Hi all

Looking at Mrs M's challenge list reminded me of the airing cupboard.as I got some towels out today and everything was falling down off the shelves lol

Are you still enjoying making the stocking?

I'm nor surprised Susan that you bought one too, I probably would have done in the past when I was in my crafting phase.

Looks as though my Christmas Day may be different than expected.

I went with ex to see his mum and take her for a drive out from her care home she recently went to live but she seems to be in a worse state with her dementia on each time. We decided against taking her to mine for Christmas day, he's going to the home instead. I also invited his brother to mine but he's going to stay with relatives - he normally visits his mum daily.

Not sure what I'll do Christmas day, DS2 will definitely be down but I don't know DS1's plans. Plus the day before, on Christmas Eve we are having our Polish Christmas at mum's, ex is coming for that as usual. Normally I have an English Christmas the next day for all the family but unsure this year as to be honest it's hard work having special days so close to one another.

So I'll talk to mum about it. Maybe invite them to mine on another day and have a really small Christmas dinner just with the boys - that is if DS1 is coming.

I've started buying some frozen food in case of snow etc if I can't buy fresh during Christmas week. I am very reluctant to start on my cards, as though someone is holding my hand away from the pen lol

yes still enjoying just not getting enough time on it. ive done the front and back of my christmas jumper but run out of wool so it will have to have contrasting sleeves;)

hope everyone is well and still organised, will be in tomorrow but just about to settle down with my knitting and homeland
