We're back, - windswept is one word!!

Sunday I didn't think we were going to have a caravan, the wind was that rough I thought it was going to push the side in. We had a fair wack of rain, lots of wind, hail.. a nice Welsh break.

I managed to the market on Sat, (nice and dry) - got a few bits, a few of the stalls were missing, last wend of season, - from Sat ngt - rain, Miss Hoodie was going to fair on Sunday and then firework and bonfire, - they'd been at fair for hr, soaked through so came back.

It wouldn't be a holiday without a drama or 2......

1st ngt - the lightbulbs blown, (normally simple) popped to the lady who looks after the van, changed the light, was screwing the cover back on, when she'd got ot 3 screws fitted - the lightbulb cover just shattered all over the place.

Tripped the electricity twice - overloading (whoops)

Miss Hoodie broke the shower head - everytime you took a shower the head kept fallin off

Best drama - this morning - mum sat on the end of the bed and the bed tipped up, she ended up on the floor between the 2 single beds (so funny).

    Wonder were welcome back.

Bailey was the best - with the weather had a migraine on Sunday - went back to bed for an hr when dad took Miss Hoodie out - woke up, Bailey was curled up on the bed. Everytime we went anywhere (more just local) he would go to bed for an afternoon nap!!

    --
Miss Hoodie went trick and treating ngt, she's made £5 and big bag of sweets...

    --
Will catch up properly tomorrow, hope everyone ok xxx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Welcome back mum2one - lol at grandma hoodie and bailey. Sure been quiet around here lol. Glad you had a good time. Pity about the weather

Echo- I make cards all year round . Odd one or two here or there. They soon mount up. Well done on your 25 though. It's the thought that counts. This year people have been saying to me. Don't forget I want a handmade card. Which has amazed me a bit as they don't usually say anything . Lol

Well it's November today girls and boys and I've made ...

1 Christmas card .... Oops , need to get my finger out.got a wedding card to make for next week too , I might cheat and buy one

Hi everyone, been busy decorating here, my OH decided we would do the bedroom, looks lovely now its done but got him at it now, wants to do the spare room and the hall. Just what I needed haha.

Disappointed about the craft fairs, looks like I might have to cancel one as cant get the staff lol, (cant get anyone to take me). Glad I didnt have to pay before I went. I only have two more booked after that, not going to make anything really before christmas like I was hoping as I owe my MIL £50 she lent me to pay my stall insurance. Having to have a good think about whether to continue next year or not. I have loads of stock but cant find a way to sell it. Tried the online shops but nothing moving on there, suppose people just aint buying hand made this year. Unless its just not good enough.

Wow to the decorating, can you send hubby round here when he's finished, we're literally top to bottom needs doing...

Have you contacted an local schools to see whether their PTA are having any xmas fayres, there usually pretty cheap on the tables.

your items are lovely, I think at the mo xmas shopping for most people is just kicking in with their lists, it use to be the 1st weekend in Dec that was the most busiest for buying, as you get the people who get paid last day of the month/last fri of the month.

I've noticed at the carboot sales people dont want to spend money, unless its priced at 10p, places local to us dont seem to have xmas sales its indoor carboot sales, makes them more money. xxx

Got some more Xmas shopping done, so funny when we were up in wales last mth saw a DVD I wanted, but was too tight to pay £5.99, - Victorian Xmas - when I looked on Amazon they were £13, went back to the shop Wed, and they had the same one, on offer 2 for £10 so got the Wartime Xmas, it was from a series on BBC2, there was 3 historians who spent a year in different premises and doing up the buildings to that era and living by it, one of the series was filmed 20 miles from us.

Then been and got mum and dad DVD player like mine, was £50, had soe vouchers, with a hdmi lead only pad £25.

November - is a month where I seem to be in appointments
    2 x dentist appointments - 2 and 1 teeth out
1 x diabetic eye screening at hosp
1 x diabetic foot screening and check up
    1 x review for asthma

Do they not realise I have the cards to write, presents to sort, for the family

    -Left to buy-
Dads - whisky, socks, shower gel, jogging bottoms
Dog - few treats and new toy
Miss Hoodie - Cds, dvd, few stocking fillers

    xx

  • I don't know if this is the right place to post this because I'm new to this (even if I read the forums on a daily basis to avoid doing college assignments :P) but I waslooking for inspiration for my grandma a present; I usually do a hamper with fudge, chocolate and biscuits for my grandma and grandad however, he recently died this year so now I have no idea, I think if I made her a hamper, I doubt shed eat it and would probably bin it. I just have no idea what to get her:/

    Hi everyone

Have any of you had metronidazole antibiotics?

The dentist gave me them last Thursday when I had my first dose. I was ok then and Friday. But since Saturday I've felt ill, stomach cramps, nausea etc. He told me no alcohol or you will be sick. I didn't drink since I started on them but did have drinks on Wednesday.

I don't know if my symptoms are due to the tablets or the night out on Friday when I got very stressed with some of my friends. Or maybe I just caught some virus. Anyhow, I'm going to cancel my hospital test on Tuesday as can't chance it.

It's annoying as I could be getting on the some Christmas bits but don't feel up to it.

Susan I know Amazon, ebay etc do the cracker snaps.

Hi furrycake :) welcome to the group. I'm sure someone will give you some great ideas for your grandma.

Rufus - I was going to ask for your advice about selling online and now you are saying that it's not easy anymore. I fancied having a go as opposed to the way people sell down here which is the weekly WI market, the farmers market or renting space in the local craft/arts gallery shop. Do you have any of these where you live?

mum2one, the holiday dramas - what can I say lol

    Hi Angela

Hope your feeling better, I know with antibiotics they can take upto 48 hrs to kick, so with its a good chance it could be your body reacting to the tablets.

have you looked to see whether you can have them with food or just after, as that could help, getting stressed as well can give you upset tums etc, - how long is the course that your on?

I wouldn't cancel the hospital app yet, if your still feeling dodgy 2mor give the dentist a ring, and see what they say.
