I have decided that this year, I will try and get all the Christmas presents I need to buy by using Wowcher. My mum is definitely sorted, as they usually do beauty products for £20, claiming to originally cost around £70. My Stepdad and OH are the ones that may be more difficult and require more of a hunt on their daily deals.0

2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!0 -
Hi everyone, hi Laura16
I was out all day yesterday and finally walked home after the lights went out and I had two heavy bags of books I was lugging all day between pubs that served me right for going to library and charity shops before stopping in the pub for lunch and meeting lots of people I know. That bloke that sends the texts turned up to see me, had a bit of a drama with him after he left I went with other friends to see a live band. I put my bags under a chair, later when I tried to retrieve them the place was packed and I had to crouch down, fell over! Some girl helped me up. Embarassing as earlier on the group of young lads standing nearby were chatting me up. They are my son's age and I keep telling them I'm too old for them. It's a strange one because the same ones have been asking me out for over a year and don't seem to take no for an answer.
If any of you have a Store 21 nearby, I spotted loads of nice house stuff for sale especially with a butterfly theme. If you don't know it, they sell housewares, childrens and womens clothes.
In the latest Share magazine from the co-op there are codes to use for electrical products, some huge reductions on tv's, laptops etc.
Hi again Susan, sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you are ok.
Mum2one - bet you were all very tired when the cakes were finished.
willow - lucky you listening to waves.I don't live that far (next village along) from the sea but the buses are only one an hour and aren't reliable so it's been a while since I've been.0 -
I love being by the sea as well, although for me its about 70 miles to the coast, thou my favourite spot, Dawlish Warren, Devon, sitting on the sea wall, and look over the lights at Exmouth, so peaceful, made many a decision or 2 down there, always use to be my thinking spot....
Wish me luck, Miss Hoodie has found a knitting pattern for a pair of mittens that look like the mininions (from despicable me 2) so as asked can I knit them, the matching hat, phone holder and the little toy!! could be fun.... xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I just had a mad idea to start sorting some Christmas presents out, the dog upstairs in bed, - and need some presents ready for end of Sept to take with us.
Sorted out on the computer, then wrote them in a note pad, each person has there page so tick off as I go.
All I need to get -
4 cans guniness
4 bottles lager
6 bottles beer
1 bottle wine
6 sachets Hot chocolate
Candy Canes
Box of chocs - Miss Hoodie decorated some bowls - going to make them into pre-packaged sweet dishes for xmas.
Then do some little sweet gifts for the hampers, depending on the person there get a selection of the following..
- Reindeer Bark
- Cherry Fudge (trailed - needed more icing sugar!! - next batch better)
- Rocky road type fudge
-Mini bags - flavoured coffees
-Pickled Eggs
-Mini wine
-Bottle of cider
-Can pre mixed drinks.
Then there be jams and maralades in there.
-Home made biscuits.
Those be done nearer the time...
major plan - October - get the stuff all emptied and each person be bagged ready to wrap nearer Xmas.
My spending totals
=Budget £520.00
=Spend so far - £269
=Total Value of Gifts - £1015
=No of people - 49 - but some people have presents from 3 generations, then theres 2 sets of couples that have joint presents as well!!
Hoping to get everything need for £30. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Anglea, had to laugh at the lad asking you out, my OH is 21 years younger than me haha, we have been together 14 years, its our anniversary next month. He is two years younger than my son!!
OH went in the loft yesterday and found some more bits for regifting so we have managed to cross off another 4 people completely so getting somewhere at last. I have half done the bags for my sisters, pleased with how they are turning out, might have to do one for myself and a smaller version for YD, kind of thing she would like. Have to get everyone elses bits done first. Going to make my SIL a shopping/tote bag as she had a back pack kind of bag last year which is what she uses at a hand bag. The two middle nieces can have some kind of bags, not sure which ones yet, might do the same as these ones I am doing now but the middle size one (pattern comes in three sizes. I am using recycled bits and pieces where I can, so far havent had to buy anything at all for any of them but might have to if I do some more unless I can find some cheap bags in the charity shop with the right metal bits on.0
