    Hi all

Echo, I can just imagine how you must have felt re the bag, it's such an unusual idea so must have been really unexpected that she had been given one.

What a gorgeous cardie Mrs Moneypenny. I think it's lovely that hand made baby outfits are still being used as you don't see that many of them nowadays.

Rufus, I always loved reading about your makes. Did I miss the wedding or is that still to come?

Echo, I do think your idea about the calendar is a really good one. And one I need to implement as there was one week recently when I had lined up a lot of really important things to do just when the b/f had a crisis and expected to see me all the time. I asked him 'what if I was away on holiday' his reply 'but you are home'. I did managed to fit in most things between seeing him but I was exhausted and resentful he never considers I have a life too. He's now gone awol eg no communication - this happens every few months and for the first time I really don't care if I ever hear or see him again.

Yesterday after the craft club, I had the usual circus with the suicidal friend, which meant that others didn't sit with us and he was nearly asked to leave one place we went into (this was as soon as we arrived), after he left me I found other people I knew as I wasn't in the mood for going home, especially as I kept getting texts from him talking about self harm. The last one was at midnight ending on a very ominous note so I hope he is ok as not heard anything today.

I ended up doing literally nothing all day today as had a really bad headache after yesterday.

Anglea, hope everything is ok with your friend, and hope you do the right thing with the boyfriend, sounds like you have your hands full with everyone elses problems at the moment.

The wedding was in May and it was lovely, the dress fitted nicely, still does as I havent lost any more weight yet only may be a couple of pounds, I seem to have slowed down but still trying. I have been to the dr and managed to talk them into referring me to the local gym so I can go with my daughter as I cant afford the prices. Hoping it will do my arms and legs some good too as long as I dont make them worse.

I have now finished off the houses completely, glad that is out of the way. I have done the embroidery on the bag fronts, so thats out of the way, need to sew them up on the machine but OH on nights yet again so might do them tonight after he has gone out if I feel like it and nothing to watch on tv.

I have had a lady ask me about making her a cushion but she wants her name on it so I have asked for the money upfront but havent heard back so dont know if she doesnt want to but if I make it and she doesnt want it I wont be able to sell it and its one with a lot of hand sewing so will take me a few days to make it. Up to her.

(((anglea))) that sounds hard going. Don't know if it would work for you but I've started blocking out time on the calendar for just us to spend together doing nothing much at all. Then if we're asked to do stuff I say we're already booked up. If there's nothing on the calendar I find it much more difficult to say no.

I'm back to square one for the friend I was going to make a book bag for. She told me about an amazing present her mum gave her "it's a handbag made out of a real book!". On the outside I was all "wow how cool" but inside I was going "noooooooo"! :rotfl:

Nooo! But how do you make a bag out of a book??

Sorry I am reading back but its slow:D

I hope you don't mind me joining so late, I got the weekly email and panicked! I intend on making lots this year as money is ridiculously tight. I have been in my over draft for 2 months  (senior school uniform, trips paid for up front and 6th for reg fee's have broken me!)

Has anybody got any experience with the hotfix gems? I just want to know if its easier than by hand or equally as fiddly.

My plan so far is 2 x scarves and a cushion, Something with the pile of free cooking apples I have just been given and cookies.

    Hi all

After I wrote that last post I started worrying that maybe I shouldn't have talked about those people on here.

Thanks for the support, haven't heard from that friend, this does worry me but can't do anything about it plus in the past he's lied about this kind of thing.

I can't help but wonder if the reason I've got myself into the situation is a sort of 'empty nest' syndrome as coincidentally all the b/fs including the one I met on MSE, are all much younger and all the local ones have problems.

Anyway, back to crafts. I was sorting my collage pic album at the club and need to buy some more envelopes, annoying they don't sell the right ones in the cheap shops, need to go to the Post Office. Next week at home I want to start making up the next batch.

DS2 is coming home today for his usual 4 day visit from his care home and he loves to go to the pubs but after Tuesday I don't think I'm up to socialising too much.

Rufus, I'm so glad your dress was a success at the wedding. Do you ever use My Fitness Pal? I've had some right old shocks when I discovered some of the foods I thought were ok to eat actually really added up the calories. Apart from Tuesday when I ate/drank out all day I normally find that using MFP keeps me in check.

I hope you find out about the cushion commission soon.
  • Thank you rufusdog52

Angela I had a friend like yours - I had to distance myself in the end as the friendship became very toxic. I heard recently she had moved on to another friend and is practically living there. I consider that friend a better person than me for sure but I breathed a sigh of relief.

Does anyone make cushions from kiddies t - shirts? I made one years ago and just found the best Mini Boden T at a boot sale.
