quite pleased with him as it was my first attempt. DS2 has already claimed it
put the lining in the bag i knitted but decided i didnt like the handles - they were totally different wool so found some the same as the trim i did and am making it into a shoulder bag using that for the strap

    th_IMG_0583_zps7f3de85f.jpg
its the same bag but one picture shows the lining i put in.
going to put this on the charity stall for my sons school christmas fayre but clueless about prices. last year i sold too cheap and one of the traders bought lots of stuff of me at the beginning so after that hardly anyone looked at my stall as the good stuff was gone.

    cooler and raining here today
Lovely makes Moneypenny, love the monkey xx

Well I managed to finish the book bags off. Think there are 5 or 6 of them ready for the next stall to see if they sell. I have now managed to make a good start on the little houses, doing 4 of them all for Xmas presents. Then I can make a start on the bags for presents.

ED told me yesterday she has been eyeing up one of my bags I have made, a tote bag. I have made her one for Christmas in a different style so wondering whether to swap her presents round and give her the bag for her birthday which is November instead of Christmas. Depends if she can wait that long to get one.

I am off out today, been invited to my brothers for dinner. My two sisters are going as well so I am hoping to get a nice photo of the 4 of us together as the last one I have was taken years ago. It was my Dad's 89th birthday yesterday so he is coming as well.

Hope you all have a good weekend xx
  • Hi Rufusdog52, I am intending to make Christmas pressies this year in the spirit of MSE. I do know how to sew, but am very rusty with my skills. I used to do embroidery also.
As a regular lurker, I have noted that you make keyrings for your craft fairs and would love to see some examples of them, or be pointed in the right direction of a template/tutorial.
    Many thanks!:j

Hi everyone, can't believe how long its been since I was last on here! I am going to start following this thread again very closely, I love to see everyone ideas and bargain finds.
I am doing really well with christmas this year in fact I have never been so organised (and I am an organiser!!) I have bought all my 2 boys pressies, step dad, in laws and friends children's!!
I have bought them all while the end of season sales have been. My little big boy turned 8 on Friday and is obsessed with skylanders (which is a complete Money pit) the figures can be upto £15 for one but I found a lot on sale for £5 so I grabbed them while I could.
I am struggling however as I do every year with my mum, she has EVERYTHING! Fussy with perfumes, skin creams, can't use most products, has hundreds of clothes, shoes, ornaments. So I thought I would make her up a gift bag of bits and bobs of things she loves but I'm getting stuck, does anyone have any ideas? I seem to be having a mind block lol.
Many thanks for any help and looking forward to helping you guys to.
    Xx

    welcome H0gg1t

abdonz, how about a hamper for your mum of nice things that you know she likes to eat and drink. or does she go to the cinema or theatre -maybe a gift voucher for tickets.

bought some disney socks for my little nieces at the carboot on sunday. guy there had a stall full kiddies were 5 for £2 adults 3 pairs for £2. also got a couple of little packs of dolls house bits for mil. Im rethinking personalised crackers and doing normal crackers but giving everyone a little giftbag on the table with their name on so it will be a combined place setting and table gift. noticed last year mil won on 2 scratchcards and commented 2 out of 3 was good. shed pulled crackers with DD3 and DH and claimed their cracker contents as shed got the 'winning' end.
i try and make the gifts in the crackers suit the person and also put a scratchcard and a miniature fave choc in so it seemed a waste that they lost their stuff. after speaking to DD3 its not the first year its happened even lough i always say the crackers are for the person whos names on them.

rufus hope your day out went well and you all enjoyed it and you managed to get the photo

finsihed the lilac bag over the weekend and am working on a little baby cardi for someone i know whos fostering a newborn.

hope everyones plans are going well

Thanks Mrs moneypenny, she doesn't do the cinema, movies, theatre or shows. Honestly she really does have everything and is always a complete a nightmare to buy for.I have made a garden hamper and a luxury hamper for the past 2 Christmas'. I was wanting something different for this year.

abdnoz - what about about offering to pay for a trip to the hairdressers, if she doesn't have the full works then you have the option of deciding how many to pay for. xx
