Anglea, I do use my fitness pal, although I havent been filling it in lately, it had me down to do 1500 calories a day which I was sticking to easily but it updated my profile the other day and put me down to 1300 and I cant stick to that, its too low. I want to go back to 1500 but dont know how to alter it on there.
Willow, I have a couple of t shirts I want to make into cushions, they are not kids ones, they are ones I bought for my OH and he never wore them, one has the godfather on the front and one has a team bloke. I have cut out the pieces but dont have any other fabric to go with them to make them in to cushions, thought just using t shirt fabric might make them too stretchy and go out of shape0 -
Hi all
Hi Willow that's a good idea using tshirts for cushions.
Re your cooking apples - pies, crumbles, dried apple slices, muffins, applesauce. I haven't done the muffins yet but have done the others.
A few years ago when I was thinking a lot this thread, I picked up a book in the charity shop called 'An Apple a Day' by Karla Dornacher, it's hand illustrated in the Amercian Folk Art style, it's written with a sort of religious viewpoint but has gift hamper ideas, recipes and various insights on the subject of apples.
I'm not surprised you let go of your friend although it's not an easy thing to do. I had to do that to some female friends in the past who exhausted me but tend to be far more tolerant of the men I currently know probably because there is a different dynamic between us, the dreaded attraction.
Rufus - I had no idea MFP would change your expected totals. I also tried changing my original amounts but couldn't. I'm on 1200 calories but usually find I'm way below it because I walk a lot and they add extra to compensate. (not on Tuesday though, my totals were astronomical). That's the only day since I started that figures were so high.0 -
When I did a stretchy t I sewed it on to an old but nice pillow case from a charity shop - it was a pain I remember!
I will look inmy book exchange for An apple a day, thanks!Life happens, live it well.0 -
I found it on amazon if not! Thanks!Life happens, live it well.0

Hi again
Willow I hope you enjoy the book. It's quaint and homely and from what I recall there was an interesting backstory how it came to be written which I read on a website about the author.
Are you planning on making the cushions as presents?
I'm relieved my friend finally got in touch, he's ok, apologising and offering to take me out for a meal because of the stress he caused. It was a coincidence because right at the moment he sent the text, I was beginning a text about him to someone as I was getting really concerned and wondered what I ought to do. I cancelled it as I had a feeling the incoming was from him.
Do any of you have a compulsion about certain subjects?
I'm not sure why but I've always had a thing about weddings and sometimes get magazines and books. Long ago I made some really nice things for a friend who had a wedding business and they were meant to be sold at a fair. However, she moved house about that time and put them into storage - refusing to return them to me.
I used to have a thing about cottages too, I live in the countryside so maybe it's just confirmation I'm in the right place but I'm always wondering about the weddings theme.
Today I felt compelled to get a book from the library about making your own contemporary wedding.
I had a very posh wedding to ex, I don't think my wedding obsession is about making my own second wedding but can't seem to let go of it. I'd like to know what it signifies for me. I did mention it to the b/f's and they weren't scared off lol although none of the ones I've met so far would be suitable.
Maybe I should be making wedding related items and selling them, I just wish I knew what it all means.0 -
Yes Anglea, I think you have hit the nail on the head, you should be trying to make some bits and sell them, see if you can get a little business going. its good to get into something that you have an interest in, that way you know you wont get bored at it. May be you could try Folksy or Etsy for selling as their fees are less than Ebay or get a stall at a craft fair like I do xx0
-
Thanks rufus, I've not considered looking at it in that way, that I wouldn't get bored as I've had phases of getting really into something then losing interest. But I've had the wedding obsession for a great many years.0

just popping in quickly, theres a new sewing mag thing out first on is 99p it builds up to make a quilt but gets dearer after the current issue, anyway you get evough stuff to make the first square which would make a lovely stand alone cushion front, its got a postcard type fabric panel some threads etc with it.
any use to anyone
hope all are well ill be back in tomorrowSPC~12 ot 124
In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
Angela this particular cushion will be for a gift though in the past they have been for home as I like to replace my cushions regularly. The dog likes to sleep on them and I never feel they are clean enough after washing lol
I am compelled to paint the sea, I am rubbish at painting though lol I agree you should be making wedding bits, people budgeting for a next year wedding will be looking now
I'll look for that magazine tomorrow mrs Money-Penny thanksLife happens, live it well.0 -
