Wow - Charlie you have been busy, love the sound of the Autumn Harvest, and very jealous of the frost free freezer.

Sounds like a nice xmas the 4 of u, hope the travelling somewhere nice,

Laura - Your braver than me making all the cards - unless its blue Peter ideas, i've had it!!

me sees one little problem with your planning, - yes a good idea to get a small box of chocs for the emergency present - but they may get lonely in the bag by themselves, so maybe a bigger box could look after them!! xx

Hope everyone ok, the visit into the loft proved productive - not sure which way to look at it - found a wasps nest - round council - yes there remove it at a cost of £50...
    There coming tomorrow.

We've had Miss Hoodie off school, she has had a streaming nose, high temp, chesty cough, - she came in with me last ngt, she was like a hot water bottle (and a fidget), still not 100% but shes back at school tomorrow.

Nanny Hoodie had her bandage changed today - she only had 5 stitches, but theyve cut downwards her hand, its black and blue and very swollen, she goes back next week for stitiches out. then follow up 10 weeks at hospital.

Miss hoodie had her "emergency appointment" for allergy clinic jan 2014, shes had 2 mild allergy attacks in last 6 mths just out of blue, but as I was a late developer (39 when I had mine) so precautionary theyve referred her). So thats good for our NHS.

Not sure what exicting plans for rest of week - bar knitting Miss Hoodie a pair of minion mittens, two hats, (as she wants one with one eye minion, other 2 eyes) and grandad hoodie wants some mittens knitting, at least keeping me away from the cake tin... xx

Morning all, I am hoping for a walk up town to scour the charity shops this morning, I have hurt my back though so hoping I dont have to turn round and come back, dont want it ending up worse again. Meeting ED up there today, want to look for some fabric and any old bags I can use the metal bits from.

I need to get on with some sewing too, a lady asked me to make a bag for her.
  • Hi guys

    Hope all is well

Been into Boots this morning and got 3 gifts 1 for my 2 nieces and nephew for this xmas gift pile. I spent £10 and Ive just looked online and the gifts at full price cost £60!

I have brought tons of stuff for the 6 year old, shes easy to buy for. I got it all in sales here and there, worked out that the stuff I have is close to £70 but combined with sales and offers from various places I got it for less than £20. So pleased! My other niece and nephew are nearly done, got them afew toys and Ill get them clothes aswell.

Realy pleased with my progress so far, my excel list at work is looking gooood!

I was quit lucky and found a couple of bags to recycle. Paid 75p for the two. Also got an egg poacher for 75p which will be good for my diet, its a saucepan one for the cooker and I have wanted one for years. I also bought a skirt to cut up for fabric, like a tweed fabric, would make a good bag.

A lady I know asked if I could make her a bag with Lana Del Ray on it (I didnt know who it was until someone told me), so I found a picture of her that had been cartoonised (just the outlines of her face) and traced it onto fabric and then embroidered over the lines. It came out nice (will add a photo later), I then cut it out and stitched it onto the bag. It gave me an idea of what to make for my bro and sil as I didnt know what to get them this year. I have bought a canvas and have picked out photos of all the kids and cartoonised them online, then printed them out and traced them onto the canvas and am embroidering around their faces. I am going to try to use felt for their hair if it works how I have it in my head. Is taking a while to do as I have to do the embroidery by poking the needle one side then trying to get it back through in the right place again from the back but I am getting there, done three out of 8 so far and have ordered a pack of brown felt which has a range of colours in it for the hair. I am going to colour the faces in flesh coloured with a water colour pencil (have ordered that too). Never used them before so hope it comes out ok. Will be unique if it comes off lol.

Went up their house yesterday and my sil had a load of fabric she wanted to sell off as she buys loads of it then doesnt use it, so I bought some off her. I have enough now to make the rest of the bags I want to do for Christmas. My son wants a quilt for the baby and there is a bit in it that will go towards that too. Just hope I will have time to make a quilt along with everything else.

Susan - That tree looks fab, cant wait for a catch up on the blog, you have amazing ideas.

Rufus - the bag is gorgeous, love the sound of the canvas.

One more job done for Xmas, made a batch of lemon and Vodka marmalade, tasted lush.. that just leaves Orange marmalade with brandy, thick cut orange marmalade with brandy.

Started a little bottle of mint wethers flavoured vodka off. Dissolving lovely.

Wish me luck, taking Miss hoodie and 2 of her friends to Ice cream farm 2mor then stop at posh chippie on way home, - early bday treat, 1st time we've taken these girls out (help!!) they seem really nice girls, they took her under there wing when she went to the new school.

Hope everyone ok - any takers for sunbathing apparently it could go up to 22C at weekend xx
