Hello Mooloo, :hello:
Hooray for the arrival of funds! And Well Done for putting most of it into your savings. :T
More good news.
Tip: If the garage won't take BF's card, then suggest he 'phones AE and asks to make a transfer of funds into your account - you'll have to give him your a/c details or make the call with him of course.
Then you can pay the bill with your more acceptable card, but using his funds (may take a few days for the ££ to go across into your a/c, so - if necessary - 'phone AE well before the garage bill needs paying).
Eek. Quite right she should be checked - hope Biggest has taken DGD2 to the doctor's by now! Hoping even more that meningitis has been ruled out..
Hooray for the taxi of Mum. I assume that there's a dangerous road between home and the signing-on place, and it's more than ten miles away?
Given that -
- I sincerely hope DS will be cooking your dinner tonight, to give you a rest after making his life easy today!
Mooloo I have sent you a pm - or possibly two and a duplicate; apologies, my connection is a tad 'bumpy' today.
(((Hugs)))
Rxx
Thanks Robin. Have messaged you back.
DGD2 is still at home so doctors must have ruled it out. But she is still running a high temperature and is craggy.
Biggests BF is going to take care of her tomorrow so she can still work.
Ds was annoyed to find that once again Banbury job centre had closed his claim a fortnight ago when he went to his AforE interview in Northampton at the same time he was due to sign in Banbury.
SO yet another Rapid reclaim. I pray that we get a positive reaction on 15th. with the Blacksmith.
Meanwhile we are living on my funds still.
DS has been looking after DGD for me since school and did her noodles for her tea which is fine as she had hot lunches at school.
I am in bed using my kindle.
I have apparently won some fabric on a FB giveaway that a fellow MSE r put a link on the MSE sewing FB page. Yipee. Perhaps my luck is turning.:TWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Let's hope the blacksmith is happy to offer the DS an apprenticeship. I see from the website they do have apprentices and produce some outstanding work. Perhaps the company can find digs for DS if he's taken on.
Fingers crossed! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I decided to take the day off yesterday, was not feeling well so stayed at home. Slowly I did a few bits and pieces between frequent rests. But I managed to open out 45 jeans legs into flatter more manageable pieces ready to reuse and cut out a dress pattern and eventually made a dress for DGD. Made the size age 8 so its a little big but she grows at such a rate of knots! So to speak.
DS cut the lawn for me so we may be able to enjoy the sunshine out there today. Between taxi of Mum duties. If her flat is reasonably tidy DGD is going to stop with her Mum tonight. Fingers crossed.
This morning I will concentrate on the washing if we are having a sunny day.
I have just hung out some of DS's clothes that he put on to wash last night.
Time to get DGD up for school. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Am seriously impressed with the amount you achieved while not feeling well/taking the day off. :TIf her flat is reasonably tidy DGD is going to stop with her Mum tonight. Fingers crossed.

You are too kind.. I would have left the washing basket full of wet clothes, on the chair DS expected to use while having breakfast.
Hope you're recovering from the laryngitis and get to enjoy some leisure-time in your garden today.0 -

I think the most important bit is that DS has put his own clothes in the washer instead of leaving them on the floor of his room as he may have done in the past.0 -
Mooloo, I'm going to get slaughtered for this by the regulars on your thread, but I'm going to say it anyway, please just accept that it is with your interests at heart.
Too ill to go to work but can unpick 45 pairs of jeans and God knows what else. That is unfair on the people who gave you an opportunity, least to say who may be reading your thread.
You have a mind like a Butterfly, it's all over the place. It was Crafts, then Portugal, then self employment, re-upholstery then remodelling charity clothes. Did you sell the finished sofa cover?
You must be an accomplished sewer to do it, but the buyer changed her mind at one stage, which made me wonder had you taken a deposit from her?
I recovered a three piece suite once that lasted many years and drew admiration from my then MiL who had the most wonderful eye for interior style.
It wasn't fit for sale though as I'd cheated, so yours must have been pretty good.
You're getting your son on his way, but I have to wonder where you want to be? Doing what? I suggested repairs as there is money to be made but although you found that boring, but can unpick all those jeans. By the way, they don't need to be unpicked but cut, which is what I hope you did.
I see the Chinese have moved into the alteration business. When that happens, you know it's the next boom, as was nails.
They have occupied one of the most expensive sites in Nottingham for alterations and I guarantee it will be successful.
Don't you think you may have to focus your mind as to exactly what it is you want to do, rather than be waylaid by someone into a project and then take a day out from to recut jeans?0 -
It was already cut legs I got from work not pairs of jeans. I only cut them while I was sitting down.
Work would have meant a lot is driving and being in a windowless room with the others. I couldn't work at my normal pace and therefore could not justify billing them my time if I am not up to speed.
Yes things are thought about, like Portugal, it was investigated, but was not viable. Things are not always so black and white.
I am doing alterations when I get them.
The sofa was good enough to sell thank you. But the lady changed her mind again so she has it.
What I want to do, what is available and what can be fitted in around my unusual world is alas different.
At least I am back working. At least I have not sat back on ESA and not tried.
Yes I am torn between my wants, and my families needs. Yes I get frustrated that I am not able to be on top of things all the time.
The Charity shop was not a paid job.
I am still in touch with them and give them advise and ideas when asked.
And yes I am a bit defencive today.
I am tired and still not 100%.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I wasn't criticising your sofa, but congratulating you.0
-
finally I am feeling a lot better. The voice is back. The sun is lurking behind a few clouds every now and then and I am sitting in the garden and have been reading. Will get back to that again in a bit but feel I should be doing something. So am going to potter. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

Thanks Savvy Sue, that's exactly it. Each year they do the car parking with the same people. They just do as they are told and the "family" of workers look after them. This year when I went back to collect them you can see the comraderie, the hugs and banter were all so good to see. The boys look after them. There is a Mum there and her family that keeps an eye out too. Then it's all See you next year and everyone says bye for another year. The girls were tired but happy and motivated for once. Twin1 doesn't usually enjoy it as much but this year she seemed to have grown in confedence.
Re the benefit mess, EE is right about the shortfall, but both twins are in the same position with two bed roomed properties. There aren't any 1 bed roomed available.
Re my situation, I want to give tough love and walk away, but when ever I do something major happens and the system reel me back in to the group.
I am still feeling very fragile emotionally.
Managed to switch off a bit over the weekend. Went for the day to Weston Super Mare on Saturday with a friend who went to collect a table and chairs. Made a nice change, but I didn't want to come back. As the time to come home drew closer I could feel the knot in my stomach tighten and the stress envelope me. This is going to take some shaking.
I have had a response from a blacksmith the other side of Oxford who will meet DS and give him an assessment on what to do etc so its gong to be a bit of a logistical nightmare but we will see if he can help DS with an apprenticeship.
Mooloo, I've not had a chance to catch up on this latest thread of yoursbut I admire your life. Your search popped up very high on g$$gle when I was searching for photos of the armed forces day at Weston super Mare. My DD was performing in the club and cutlass display at 10am and the field gun race at 2:45pm. I don't know if you were able to see any of these? I saw the Red Barrows display, it was amazing! So funny
. It was a touch windy that day but has been fantastic weather. I do hope you liked our little town.
Ps, if you ever come here again, may I recommend pj's for ice creams? (I am not affiliated to them but go there loads!).Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0
