Is DS still doing the computing course also? x0

Thanks Savvy Sue, that's exactly it. Each year they do the car parking with the same people. They just do as they are told and the "family" of workers look after them. This year when I went back to collect them you can see the comraderie, the hugs and banter were all so good to see. The boys look after them. There is a Mum there and her family that keeps an eye out too. Then it's all See you next year and everyone says bye for another year. The girls were tired but happy and motivated for once. Twin1 doesn't usually enjoy it as much but this year she seemed to have grown in confedence.
Re the benefit mess, EE is right about the shortfall, but both twins are in the same position with two bed roomed properties. There aren't any 1 bed roomed available.
Re my situation, I want to give tough love and walk away, but when ever I do something major happens and the system reel me back in to the group.
I am still feeling very fragile emotionally.
Managed to switch off a bit over the weekend. Went for the day to Weston Super Mare on Saturday with a friend who went to collect a table and chairs. Made a nice change, but I didn't want to come back. As the time to come home drew closer I could feel the knot in my stomach tighten and the stress envelope me. This is going to take some shaking.
I have had a response from a blacksmith the other side of Oxford who will meet DS and give him an assessment on what to do etc so its gong to be a bit of a logistical nightmare but we will see if he can help DS with an apprenticeship.
I well know that dread of returning home Mooloo. When I used to drive up the lane, I'd be saying to myself," Please don't let his car be there." "Please make him be out." Different circumstances but I know the feeling.
Glad the twins had a good time. When they're happy, (and safe) Mooloo's happy, and for what it's worth, I couldn't turn my back either.
I would love for a programme such as the catering one, where the twins could eventually lead independent lives and you could get on with your own.
It's very short sighted of the government not to help DS with the apprenticeship. If they were to help out with funding he could be self employed in three years. Instead they are facing many years of JSA or whatever. I was telling the lady who sold me my Euro Million ticket recently, that I would love to win so I could pass money to deserving people directly.
Good luck on the Oxford meeting with the Smithy. You don't go with your son into the interview do you? Brighton belle had a very good suggestion in contacting your local agricultural college. Now DS has found his vocation, it's worth pulling out all the stops, then it's one down and two to sort!
ETA. See your college doesn't do Smithing apart from horses. That's not the end though. Is it possible for somewhere else in the country and he lodges with a family?0 -

There is a distinct difference between the two:
A blacksmith crafts industrial and/or artistic metalwork.
A farrier makes and fits horse shoes which also involves learning about the anatomy and veterinary diseases of the hoof structure and how to apply corrective procedures.
I'm assuming Mooloo and her son have already checked out the British Artist Blacksmiths Association ?
Good luck with his interview“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Oh please! Mooloo is struggling and you are nit picking!
Quite the contrary! I was just explaining the difference for the benefit of those who didn't know. Someone had previously mistook his smithy work for the work a farrier does.
I'm very supportive of Mooloo and her struggles and have followed her threads for several years.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
DS will get to visit and try out with the Blacksmith who I found from the Blacksmith Association mentioned above. I may have to put him up in a B&B that night to cut down on my rushing around etc I will investigate.
If I could find him lodges etc if the needs be, then I will.
Don't know how of course.
Twin1 needed cash transferred today as alas she didn't have any personal paraphinalia for her monthly. But as she was overdrawn it cost me £26 as i was at work and wasnt able to take money or items to her. I must find out why the carers don't think to check they have enough of these kind of things.
Twin2 hasnt been intouch today.
Biggest of Mooloo´s car failed its MOT and will cost over £600 so we are going to have to put it on my credit card bill and spread the repayments. She couldn't be without a car, with no shops etc in her village or other way of getting to work. My heart sank, but at least there is credit on my card. i hate to think what would happen if it had been full already. So now I need to find funds to make sure we can clear it ASAP to reduce the cost of the interest. I know that she will try to pay me back but it would take her longer then I would like and the interest would be higher. So tomorrow Its sort my stock, excess clothing etc and get sellong on Ebay, FB and anywhere else I can think. Just to make inroads. She has £120 of the money to give me, so that is a start.
DS has started to go out around here and now is making friends with the twins that live next door. They are a bit younger just leaving school this year, but I suppose as long as he behaves it will not be such a bad thing.
Me, I have succumbed to a sore throat, and cough. So I have come up to bed. Now I have updated this I can relax and get some sleep.
Thanks for all the support and positive vibes. I don't feel quite so low even with the money issues. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well today my Tax Credits went into the bank, so I have put 3/4 of it away into the savings account, so that I don't spend it unnecessarily. I doubt it will be as simple as doing that, but it keeps the basic account low, and that stops me from spending loads on the grocery shopping, or any other indulgent purchases that I may have been tempted to spend. Not that I am that extravagant when it comes to me.!
Biggest of Mooloo may not have to use my card. Her BF told her yesterday that I had enough to deal with without dealing with hers and is going to see if the garage will accept his American Express card. Not sure if they do that, but if they do, then he will be paying rather then me. We will see.
My other Granddaughter is not well, and is running a temperature of over 39c she said. So I have told her to call the doctors, as she had a temperature all day yesterday, and fell asleep a lot etc.at Nursery yesterday. She has never slept in Nursery before, and fell asleep eating her dinner. She is grizzly and I think its best to get her checked out. There is Meningitus around amongst some of my contacts, and I had DGD last week with me here, at the school fete.
Now I have to go and take DS to sign on.
I am struggling with larangitus at the moment, so been taking the morning more easily, uploaded some clothes and some more of my lavender bags to Ebay. The clothes were Biggests that I sorted out a few months ago, so I should have put them on before. There are more to do, but I will have to do them another time.
Time to go.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hello Mooloo, :hello:Well today my Tax Credits went into the bank, so I have put 3/4 of it away into the savings account, so that I don't spend it unnecessarily. ....... Not that I am that extravagant when it comes to me.!
Hooray for the arrival of funds! And Well Done for putting most of it into your savings. :TBiggest of Mooloo may not have to use my card. Her BF told her yesterday that I had enough to deal with without dealing with hers and is going to see if the garage will accept his American Express card. Not sure if they do that, but if they do, then he will be paying rather then me. We will see.
More good news.
Tip: If the garage won't take BF's card, then suggest he 'phones AE and asks to make a transfer of funds into your account - you'll have to give him your a/c details or make the call with him of course.
Then you can pay the bill with your more acceptable card, but using his funds (may take a few days for the ££ to go across into your a/c, so - if necessary - 'phone AE well before the garage bill needs paying).

Eek. Quite right she should be checked - hope Biggest has taken DGD2 to the doctor's by now! Hoping even more that meningitis has been ruled out..Now I have to go and take DS to sign on.
Hooray for the taxi of Mum. I assume that there's a dangerous road between home and the signing-on place, and it's more than ten miles away?
Given that -I am struggling with larangitus at the moment
- I sincerely hope DS will be cooking your dinner tonight, to give you a rest after making his life easy today!
Mooloo I have sent you a pm - or possibly two and a duplicate; apologies, my connection is a tad 'bumpy' today.
(((Hugs)))

Let's hope the blacksmith is happy to offer the DS an apprenticeship. I see from the website they do have apprentices and produce some outstanding work. Perhaps the company can find digs for DS if he's taken on..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
