So sorry they have removed your posts I think I read most of them and don't think you gave to much information. It is true bad things happen and removing posts is not going to stop that.I think it is a shame that your thread which is an outlet for you is being policed by the powers that be.Also if they take the time to remove posts they should also take the time to inform the poster of the reason.

They told me. For family safety and security. ?
Its fair enough. Just reading the post I hadn't realised any of it was doing that.
Better safe then sorry I suppose.
Maybe will remove link to my blog.

I have removed the link to my blog. Will be a bit of a change for those that follow me there, but thats usually only my sewing anyway.
Yesterday was a bit of a rush around day, taking Twin2 back to her sisters, as she didnt want to go home.
Taking DS to sign on, and then to get his hair cut. He looks human again now. Then to get back in time to pick up DGD from school.
Oh and popping in to see my parents, dropping off a letter at the housing asking for permission to run a small business from home for the sewing, (If I ever get the chance to get any done again), and a letter to the council offices about the rent increase for twin2.
So they are offices at the opposite end of town.
While we were out, the car decided to snap a spring in the suspension!. Great, so the car had to be driven straight to the garage and be left there to be fixed. So today No Car, and then the added cost of having the car fixed.
This meant problems with the care for DGD2 today.
Biggest has had to contact her work and ask if she can do her hours over Friday and Tuesday to catch up what she will miss today.
I will have to babysit for DGD2 tomorrow, which will mean that DS will have to do the school runs for me tomorrow for DGD. What a faff about. Next week, I will need to also babysit at least on Tuesday afternoon, as DGD2 is only in nursery in the morning.
She is supposed to be with her other Granny on monday. But I am not sure if she will have her if she is still ill. I pray that she will be better by then ofcourse. But she didnt have her this monday as she was ill, (she usually has her every monday).
Plans all around the family seem to be changing on hour to hour basises these days and not the day to day or week to week. This has made it impossible for me to sew, or to even volunteer at the shop. We are nearly at March, and I havent been in since mid December. I feel rather guilty, but life seems to be a bit busy at the moment.
I am not happy that the car has this problem as I know that it will mean that its time that I also got her serviced, and I havent the funds in the bank to do it. I will need to pay by credit card. Which I will not be thrilled at using. But at least I do have one to fall back on.
I had been hoping to have had about £1,000 in savings by now. But after today there will not be anything at all.
(Except the money I tray to put away for DGD).

Biggest came up with an unusual idea about housing the twins.
She said that perhaps we should contact the housing departments and get them to build a couple of self contained granny flats for them at the top of the garden!.
We would be close enough to be called on, but they would have thier own front doors. If the Planning was possible, it would actually be possible as the garden is 159 feet long.
There is a back alley where houses have already been built on what was the back gardens of several of the neighbours houses, so there is presedence? is that the right words?
Then the council/housing would have two two bedroomed properties made available for other families.
If the twins didnt need to be supervised or helped then the two flats at the back could be rented out, as housing stock to others.
The garden is big enough to give both properties some garden as far as I can see.
The front garden could be turned into off road parking for two vehicles at least I would have thought.
Access can be made from the alley or from the side of the house.

    In an ideal world hey?!!
Wish I could afford to do it. It would solve a lot of problems, and increase the housing stocks for the housing association.
But who would listen to me, and how could it be put into action?
Is it a solution that would work? Is it actually something that Planning would consider, if housing would be able to find the funding to do it even?
If I had money, then I would buy the property, and do this myself.
Perhaps its time to think about doing the lottery!!

  • I've been a long time lurker of your threads Mooloo. I think what you do for your family is amazing but just had to comment on this idea of granny flats for your girls.
How many homes have they been given in the past? How many of those have they had trouble in? It just seems crazy to ask the council to spend money building these flats when there's a chance it could all go down the pan again.

You can dress it up as a good thing for the council because it would create more stock for other families but its not really for their benefit. It's for the twins.

I'm sorry if this seems harsh but I don't see why the council should cough up. It's far cheaper to simply rehouse someone that it is to build a entire new home.

Don't forget that most of the twins' problems with living on their own have been brought about by the lack of adequate, consistent, regular, suitable support & assistance to meet their needs.

At least if they were that close to Mooloo, they could have the support & guidance that they need without her incurring the costs & stress of not knowing how they are getting on, and having to clear up when any support that has happened has failed for whatever reason.

They would also be more able to keep unwanted visitors to a minimum, thus keeping the police away and themselves safer.

Mooloo, I think it's a great idea but it may be difficult to fund - now where did I put those Lottery tickets?!

Oh I realise that its just a pipe dream. I doubt anyone would be able to support me in my ideas. Well biggests ideas. It would be a lot cheaper then putting them in a home though! and they do have to live somewhere. I am in a small council house, but its on a huge plot of land. Some 159ft of garden.
So what I am thinking is something that is certainly more practical and cheaper then them being in a home, with care assistants etc etc.
Twin2 has only lived in the hostel and this house.
Twin1 was in the hostel then the Mother babyunit. Had to be rehoused in a charity house, but thats only for teenagers so she had to be moved out of there, not becuase she wasnt coping (although she wasnt) but becuase its a charity thats only a starter place for troubled teenagers. She is now 24 years old. At least I am not asking for them to build me a 7 bedroomed house.

The car set me back £102.
The Pub asked if DS could work tonight, so just as well I had the car back. But we had to put fuel in it first as I had left it on red yesterday.
Just as I was off to get the car, DGD's school rang to say that she had been sick, so I had to go and collect her.
This meant I missed the lady I had arranged to collect some alterations from. It also means that DGD misses the School Disco thats on tonight.
It also means that I have had to ask Biggest of Mooloos to make other arrangements if she can for DGD2, or she will have to bring her here in the morning, which is a long way out of the way for her to get to work.
I am tired, with all the changes of plans all the calls and the different things that I had to deal with.
I had to do the paperwork for the carers auditing as well. But at least I was home so I got it done, and posted too.
DS made a huge big cheesecake this afternoon, and is not here to enjoy it now. He will be working tomorrow night as well, so he has to get put up somewhere. I will collect him after the Blacksmithing on Saturday. (I forgot we need to get him there), I will have to see if my Dad is around again or not. If not we will have to do it.
I just wish there were buses at the right times to the right places.
Anyway, this evening I plan on another early night, as soon as DGD is settled, especially incase we are woken with her being ill again later.
I hope that she doesnt suffer too much. Poor DGD2 was really bad until yesterday. She is fine today though her mum said. phew.
Time for my tea. I am having some potato wedges, I didnt fancy anythingelse.

well DGD seems to be ok. At least she hasn't been sick since coming home. However I will keep her home today anyway and watch her. Its Pjamas day at school today which is a pity but also this time of year not very practical if you ask me.
Biggest must have managed to make other arrangements for DGD2 so it means we can just slow down today. Thank goodness as I am really quiet worn out.
My Mr A food shop is due today. So we will be stocked up again and i can re introduced my menu plans with DS in the plans as well.
I started filling in some of my past banking transactions into Microsoft money programme so that i can try to get better cashflow forecasts and get the budget back within its boundaries. I knew what it was supposed to be but have been sloppy in keeping to it.
The biggest problems that I have is my terrible lack of organisation and control of my days.

    Sending you hugs Mooloo
One day at a time and don't even TRY and look any further than that right now. I do feel now is the time to involve your MP in twin 2's housing situation though.

    Hi Mooloo, :hello:

Am glad to hear you and DGD can have a quiet day today - make the most of it!

I wrote you an epic pm the other day then lost it, SIZE="1"]oops[/SIZE basically thinking along the same lines as Biggest - but not in your garden or expecting the council to fund setting up a solution.

I can see you having to keep on rescuing the Twins until your dying breath if they're living in your garden.. And then what would happen to them afterwards?

It will be a helluva lot of work to set up a Trust to provide a home for the girls, but worth it to secure their future - and not just theirs; with advances in medicine there are many children growing up now who will be in a similar position to your Twins, in addition to the hundreds, if not thousands of families who are already facing the same dilemma.

Maybe the government should sort it out - but that's not happening, a situation which is unlikely to change.

We know from Mike's Mob that MSEers, working together, can perform miracles.. :)

 Just had a look on Rightmove at house prices local to you and was pleasantly surprised - not beyond the reach of a dedicated fund-raising effort (though I've assumed the Twins would be prepared to share a home with at least one other vulnerable young adult plus a carer, so looking at four bed properties).

Unfortunately I've not got time right now to retype all my thoughts - you wouldn't want Daft Dogs reduced to a diet of lettuce and aubergine which will happen today unless I get moving! ;)

    So here's the seed:
Am thinking along the lines of raising money to provide a rolling fund, which would buy a house and rent it to vulnerable young adults such as the Twins. Their benefits would put funds back into the charity to buy another house to help another group, and so on. All controlled by trustees.

..Anyone care to comment (nurture the seed)? :)
