hi Noel, nice of them to send the letter. If the end goal is the same then I think having as many mini-goals as possible is good. There wasn't a 5% when I lost weight originally but I can see the logic and I think any recognition and getting a sense of achievement helps to keep me on course for my ultimate goal.

    Hope this helps,
    WBF

Yes, I agree with you.I think having lots of mini goals is a good idea, especially if you have a lot to lose. It can be overwhelming sometimes to think about how much you need to lose but if you can think in terms of losing half a stone and then looking for the next target etc then it can really help. I started off in October last year aiming to lose a stone by Xmas and am now aiming to lose another stone by Easter. If and when I get there I will think of what my next goal can be.

I've done this so many times that my biggest goal is to not only lose the weight, but keep it off. As I've learned to my cost, that can be the hardest part.

I'm a pizza addict and that's how I got my spare tyre ;) But I had my last pizza on 29 Dec 2012.

Like many others I decided to diet from 1 January. My initial weight was 14 stones. My current weight 13 stones. Target weight to be achieved by 1 April... 11 stones.

I'm on low carb/fat, high protein diet combined with some moderate 30 minutes a day excercises. No cardio, just some weight exercises at home. I will include cardio later when it's a bit warmer outside.

I have 5 meals a day and drink 2L of still water.

Not sure whether it's a right forum for me as I am a male over 30yo and 5 foot 11. Surely not a beauty part applies to me ;)

Have you lost a stone already - in 17 days? Do you know how many calories a day you are having?

If you get down to 11 stone what will your BMI be? 11 stone sounds quite light for that height. I know my son is 5 foot 10 and weighs 10 stone something and would like to weigh more - wish I had the same problem! :D

There's no sexism here - men just as welcome as women.

that is not ww;) this forum may not be for you for that reason and not because you are male:)
  • What does WW stand for? ;)

Roughly I get 1500 calories a day. And yes I've already lost a stone! And I know I can easily lose another two by April because I had this diet in the past. I just ate too many pizzas after that.

Example of my one daily food intake:
Breakfast: A bowl of Scottish poridge with skimmed milk + one Weight Watchers citrus yoghurt + fruit
Lunch: Fried fish or chicken fillet with boiled brocolli/cauliflower/brussel sprouts.
3rd meal: A tin of tuna with water + cucumbers/tomatoes
    (Workout)
4th meal (just after workout): A glass of Chocolate milkshake without fat with added proteins + Weight Watchers citrus yoghurt.
    Dinner/Supper: Tomatoes/Cucumbers/Lettuce
(Work - evening shift for a few hours - no heavy lifting involved)
Last meal: Apple (but I often skip it)
