I joined for the first time, using the cash back offer. Just finished my first week and so far it has been interesting. What I have noticed so far:

It teaches you about portion sizes. Major eye opener!

You can still have what you fancy as long as your points allow it. Frankly this was a real shocker for me, because I kinda figured you have to eat rabbit food to get anywhere. I think this is going to be really educational for me. I love that I can have bacon and still lose weight (in theory!).

It is making me eat fresh fruit and veg. I'm watching the fruit intake because of the sugars, but still, I find myself reaching for an apple over say, a sandwich. This has to be a good thing!

It is making me exercise. Even though I haven't used my activity points, I've still wanted to see the number go up, damn it! ;)

It is making me think twice before I eat something. Which is amazing because I am a huge chocoholic. So far I have managed to be happy with a little bit of chocolate instead of eating the whole bar!!!

So yep, I'm excited to be joining you all. I guesstimated my start weight based on the last doc visit I had (my clothes size hasn't changed since then so it can't be far off) because I am waiting on some new scales from amazon. Hopefully I can adjust my start weight if I need to, when they arrive on Monday???

Still wondering where the catch is - seems too good to be true at the moment. :)

Yes gardenia you can change your start weight :) well done for starting ww it really does seem too good to be true and it is a big change in eating habits (for me) but i am never hungry :T

  • Thanks guys - I think I might just look at the online option.

My monthly pass is still valid until 19th Feb so that means I still have the access to it.

Then I might just do the online thing & weigh myself at home.

I am getting my head together to start tomorrow & I am going to set myself small achievable monthly goals.

Noelphobic - I used to go to a meeting where one lady had lost 6stones! When she started she wore a sundress and she wore that dress to weigh in rain or shine until she got to goal!! Towards the end she used to change in the loo and litereally wrap the dress round her!! I'm another one who always tries to wear the same ;)

Dolly Rocker - Me and you both :( I get up every morning and tell myself "I'm starting again today" I get to the evening and it all goes out the window  I don't know why I'm self-sabotaging, I'm only about 10lbs over goal but it's noticeable now, the new clothes I bought when I got to goal are decidedly close fitting now :embarasse We need to keep trying though!! I won't pay for esource, I have loads of books and info, I have a phone ap that calculates points and I downloaded one at the weekend that tracks my weighloss (hopefully)

We need to keep trying!!!! :grouphug:

I made a huge vat of free soup at the weekend......and then ate it with loads of bread:o

My weigh in day is tomorrow so I will report back after that.......

    hi there,

sorry to barge in like this; wondered if anyone can help. i actually really like the propoints system and am normally extremely good at counting etc. however, i am only on day 3 for my week and have already gone over my weekly allowance by 33 points!!

i know i am totally wishful thinking and this will be really frowned upon but i was thinking of 'paying them back' between earning activity points (my leader says that these can be used how you want - like the 49 weeklies) and swiping them from my daily points?? either that or just eat completely zero point foods tomorrow all day and pay them back in the one go!! i know this is really bad but i'm desparate here!!

    any thoughts??

Hmm....I'm not sure what the 'official' advice is for this, but I would try and redeem them through the week by sticking to my dailies for the rest of the week, and perhaps doing some exercise to help compensate. At least it's only day 3, so you have time for the blow out to balance out!!!!

Maybe someone else might have a better idea. I have to say, in the past, that's the kind of day which makes me say 'sod it' and give up entirely!!!! SO just by not jacking it all in your doing the very best thing.....stay on track for the rest of the week and see what happens at WI....if it's not good, chalk it up to experience and try not to do it again!

Well.....WI in for me today......3lbs lost!! :T SO my total for the this year is 8lb in total, only 2lbs from being the next 'half stone' and 3.something from my 10%.

Hope everyone has had a good day x
