Hi everyone - just trawled though since my last post (ha ha trying to kill time at work!) well done to everyone who has lost! OMG so jelly re being able to run a marathon. I want to do a triathalon this year in June - but its a small one!

Go for it! Most of it's about whether you believe you can do it! You have my utmost respect if you do a tri, I'd love to do one but am terrified of cycling lol.

Well done to all losers, I can happily join you now as I just weighed in and I'm now 155lbs, which is 1.5lbs down from last week, and I'm chuffed as I have abused the system a little this week, and also have been trying not to spend money on food but use up what's left before our big shop is delivered today! I feel it could have been lower but I had a Chinese last night! ;)

My friend and I have started a weight loss challenge with a few members of our team at work now, it starts on Monday so hoping that will keep me motivated. My biggest challenge this week will be the fact that I'm visiting my husband's side of the family tonight and they just don't stop eating and drinking! I will try and earn some activity points before we go though and maybe have a v low point lunch.

I drove through the snow to my meeting today and was very pleased to discover I had lost 3lbs. I wore exactly the same clothes as last week and plan to carry on doing that until either they're too big (hopefuly soon!) or the weather is too warm (not even worth hoping for that one and would be gutted if I wasn't in the next size down before the summer!)

If this was my first 'proper' week I probably would have been a little disappointed to have 'only' lost 3lbs but I've been doing it online since mid October, just having lost my way over Xmas. I know the perceived wisdom is that 1-2lbs is the 'best' amount to lose per week but a lot of people find they lose a lot more in the first week, especially if they have a lot to lose. I lost 6.4lbs in the first week I did WW online and in the past have lost half a stone in the first week of a new plan.

I'm now around a pound lighter than I was before Xmas. Looking at the numbers I am actually slightly heavier but that's because I wear my clothes when I get weighed at WW meetings (obviously!) but I don't at home. Although going naked at meetings would be one way to get to the front of the queue lol!

  • Welcome to the newbies.

Well done to everyone on such fab losses.

I am feeling like such a failure at the minute & I am too embarrassed to go back to my meeting so I have cancelled my monthly pass & gone & bought some scales so I am just gonna weigh at home instead.

The thing is right, I am unhappy & this is due to my weight - But I still cant stop myself eating. Its not like I am stressed or anything like that I think I just have a blooming eating disorder but one that I cant stop eating.

I need to just snap out of this I really think its just the depression with my size that is making me comfort eat- gahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Anyway I shall keep you all posted on how I am getting on.

Will WI on a Monday & its not gonna be good I did have a sneaky peak & by jings I have put on a lot of lbs since I last got weighed.

    Dxxx
  • Hi everyone

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a tough time of it at the moment Dollyrocker. I know how hard it can be as I have had more than my fair share of ups and downs.

How long is it since you went to a meeting? Do you know your leader well enough to feel comfortable talking to her (unless you have a male leader, assuming there are any!)

I'm probably preaching to the converted but it can help to think of doing this one day at a time. This is the first week since Xmas that I have really felt that I have got back into the swing of things and it hasn't been easy, nor do I think it will be a walk in the park going forward.

You started this thread and I am sure others on here are grateful, as am I. If there is any way in which we can help you then you only have to say.

Take care and keep in touch xxx

Dollyrocker, don't give yourself a hard time about this. If you don't want to do meetings, why don't you think about the online option? That's what I signed up for last year and I've done the best I've ever done on it rather than meetings....I find if I have a bad day, when I'm doing meetings I might not go, and then I find I don't go the next week and then I'm wasting money so I stop altogether. But somehow, on line is with me all the time and I know that I'm only cheating myself and that I know I'm cheating myself.....which helps keep me on track.

I also know you need to have your head in the right zone...so if not, do what you can and ease yourself back into things.

I weigh in on a Monday too and I much prefer it to the other midweek days I have before when I've gone to meetings. I try to be really good till Friday, so no blow outs in the weeklies, then on a Fri or maybe the Sat morning I weigh myself again (unofficially) to get an idea about how the weeks gone. Then I can spend the weeklies over the weekend to suit how I feel.....if I've lost a bit I can maybe indulge (ie have a couple of glasses of wine) or maybe have a takeaway with DH. If things haven't budged, I might not use them all....but this way my week is broken into two sections which makes it seem more doable.

Today I made the boys pancakes for tea.....(DD is at a friends and Dh has gone away for work)....I was going to have the chicken in parma ham from the website (lush! I do it without the wine and it's a point lower) anyway, I pointed up the batter and decided it was worth having a couple....luverly!!!! with maple syrup and a sprinkle of sugar....yum, yum!!! and all within my points today!!

I hope everyone has had a good day xx

welcome! As far as your goal weight goes, have you looked at what a healthy BMI would be for your height? 11 stone would put me at a BMI of around 25 and I know from past experience that I would struggle to get below this. I would be over the moon to reach 11 stone but that is a long way off for me.

Hi, I've just checked my BMI and I'm 25.7 which is classed as overweight (overweight being between 25 and 29.9) I think I'd be happy regardless of my weight if I could get my BMI down to around 21 which is middle ground for normal so just going to keep an eye on this as well as the actual lbs

Had quite a good day today, used all my points but didnt go over which is a first for me when starting back and am chuffed that included 2 bottles of beer with my tea

Have spent my Saturday night making leek & potato soup and also spicy tomato soup, how rock n roll!! :rotfl:

Dollyrocker i agree with rae18 online is a really good way of doing ww, you can still weigh yourself at home and be completely honest with yourself about it.
There is loads of support on the forums too. And tracking all your food is a real eye opener as to how you are doing. Good luck x

  • I joined for the first time, using the cash back offer. Just finished my first week and so far it has been interesting. What I have noticed so far:

It teaches you about portion sizes. Major eye opener!

You can still have what you fancy as long as your points allow it. Frankly this was a real shocker for me, because I kinda figured you have to eat rabbit food to get anywhere. I think this is going to be really educational for me. I love that I can have bacon and still lose weight (in theory!).

It is making me eat fresh fruit and veg. I'm watching the fruit intake because of the sugars, but still, I find myself reaching for an apple over say, a sandwich. This has to be a good thing!

It is making me exercise. Even though I haven't used my activity points, I've still wanted to see the number go up, damn it! ;)

It is making me think twice before I eat something. Which is amazing because I am a huge chocoholic. So far I have managed to be happy with a little bit of chocolate instead of eating the whole bar!!!

So yep, I'm excited to be joining you all. I guesstimated my start weight based on the last doc visit I had (my clothes size hasn't changed since then so it can't be far off) because I am waiting on some new scales from amazon. Hopefully I can adjust my start weight if I need to, when they arrive on Monday???

Still wondering where the catch is - seems too good to be true at the moment. :)

    Morning all

    Well done to the losers

Dollyrocker - hope you get your head back in the WW zone! Maybe try snacking on free/low point stuff when you get the munchies. I find whenever my motivation wavers looking at WW online and reading all the blogs/success stories and reading the WW magazine really helps to focus my brain.

I'm impatiently waiting for tomorrow to arrive so I can do a WI! I went out last night and used 30 of my weeklies, so am a bit worried I won't have lost weight this week, I should do as I've been on plan all week and not used any other weeklies, plus I've been on a few short walks so a bit of exercise too.

    I shall report back tomorrow
