Heres a quick question for those of you that go to Vegas twice a year. I usually go on average about every 8 months. My last trip being in November last year. I was thinking of doing a trip at the beginning of May and possibly another one for Thanksgiving. Does anyone see any issues with immigration? Its around about 6 months in between each trip?
We have never had a problem. We go twice a year for six to eight weeks each time. I was once asked why we didn't have a permanent visa seeing as we were there so often, but that's just about the only comment we have ever had.

Thanksgiving is pretty good for bargains. The offers they have on are very good indeed. Some of the shops open at midnight to start the sales, some open very early in the morning. The info in the papers is a good idea to plan your shopping day.

I've done three trips in seven months before now and it wasn't even mentioned -and several twice a year visits. Never raised any questions.

after missing the Da Vinci exhibition at Venetian last trip (still so annoyed about that) hubby noticed they have another one that may interest us now.

Not cheap though, nearly $40 for the pair of us not 100% we'll do it but glad to know it is there...but for some may be interesting/worth it.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • Thanks for making my trip planning easy. all information required to plan a trip was there...looking fwd to visit Las Vegas n have a blast out there with my partner..

Thanks both - having looked at it this afternoon in more detail I don't think it seems worth it, especially given the extra for Caesars/Rio Seafood.

Will stick with our Cosmo/Wynn/M combo and throw in some old favourites for lunch like In N Out, Hot N Juicy, Memphis BBQ etc..... I'm sure we won't go hungry :p

We thought hot and juicy was the worst meal we ever had, period.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
  • Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that Stoneman! We love it - obviously the surroundings aren't great and it's very very messy but super tasty. Different strokes for different folks I guess?!

Our Vegas dining experiences are always very random, mixing high end restaurants with take-away, supermarket cook-you-own, food trucks, fasst food and buffets. It's why we love Vegas so much - something for everyone, regardless of budget and mood.

Check travelzoo. I'm sure I saw a special offer last week. $199 plus tax for the trip you mention.

I've used papillon in the past, I'd book before going but that's not to say you won't find a better deal when you get there.

    EDIT. Here's the link http://www.travelzoo.com/entertainment/las-vegas/-75-amp-up-Vegas-Grand-Canyon-Air-amp-Bus-Tours-Reg-150-1402242/

Thanks for that martmonk, not quite the same itinerary but worth a look nonetheless. Still getting conflicting advice whether to book now or wait until we get there.

Also looking at tickets for 'O' Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio but cheapest so far is $294.70 for two, 10pm show only, direct with Bellagio. Not many seats left so will probably book before going to avoid disappointment.
  • Interesting for anyone planning/booked to stay at THEHotel this next year:

Delano taking over the property within the year....wander if prices/quality will differ?

We would love to do the Scoot city tour but OH doesn't drive and it wouldn't be fair that I'd have all the fun :D

don't let that stop you! me and the OH shared the driving, and sitting in the passenger seat was pretty much just as fun! :)

I'm really hoping it comes up on Groupon again before we go, if it does I'm there. Can't really justify it otherwise :o

On another note does anyone have any recommendations for companies that do short term rentals in Vegas?

We're looking at renting some where for the first week, which will hopefully be much cheaper thn the cost of 5+ hotel rooms we're going to need!

Then the wedding night and night after will be at the Bellagio (inc in wedding package)
And after the wedding we'll be staying in Vegas for another 10 nights or so. Now we're thinking we'll stay 6 or 7 nights at the Excalibur to save some cash and then the last few nights at somewhere a bit more swish.

Thanks for the info about priceline & hotwire, not sure if we're brave enough to use them this time but will keep them in mind! Might be worth looking into for our last four nights though...
