Are you telling me US airlines DO NOT offer free drinks all flight?

Sorry, I meant alcoholic drinks. Free wine with meal only (and only on the transatlantic flight). Free soft drinks, juices etc continue throughout the flight - although I felt they didn't offer very often. Maybe people just go up and get them if they want them in between, I saw a few people do that.

Spent a day downtown drinking too many cocktails in the downtown cocktail room.

Hadn't heard of this place prior to my Vegas trip last year so Ive just spent the last 20 mins reading about it on TripAdvisor. Sounds great!

    Some questions about it:
    1) What's the trick with the door? :D
    2) Approx price of cocktails?
    3) And in true MSE style, do you know the Happy Hour times?

    TIA

I've just this minute booked too.

19th June flying with Virgin, I've been watching the prices since I came back from my last trip in Sept, my eyes nearly popped out my head today when I looked as the price to upgrade to upper class was £2700 for two of us both ways, its been between 4k - 6k all the other times I've checked.

I've booked UC, seemed rude not to, I'm very excited, I'll try to keep it a secret from hubby as long as possible, he'll be thrilled to bits when I tell him. :j

Virgin have started their sale also but prices don't appear too brilliant for my dates.

The door is pretty simple although I stayed just behind the wife to watch her. It is all glass completely on all sides and the door actually looks like a wall. So as you try pushing every section of glass until the you click and try the "wall" part.

The cocktails on happy hour were 7 dollars, there was a choice of about 12-15 cocktails to choose from in the happy hour section, most were reduced from 10-14 dollars, all were made with top brands of booze.

    Happy hour runs from 4-7.

It is pretty good and the cocktails do go down nicely plus the barman was quite chatty and willing to answer any questions.

    I work like this:
I know when i want to go, make a spreadsheet, record the info you have looked at for flights/accom or just flights and hotels seperate, car hire, etc etc etc....

Then day later or week later or month later, etc, do same thing and record info, start to compare and see how it works out....

This year, i booked my crazy !!! flights and Excalibur hotel with Expedia for our Max budget of £750 (very indirect! :D ), actual cost was £700 but allowed £50 each for resort fee.....
Using cheek, luck and something else, our total in the end came to £672 each, and that got us 3 nights Mandalay Bay, 2 nights Golden Nugget and 5 nights in Lux :D:D:D (cancelled the excal booking resulted in a refund for the expected amount...)

If you dont know dates of when you want to go, it might make it a bit harder in nailing down a good price....
Our direct flights with Virgin in May next year cost £596 each, that was luck and timing when i booked (Delta just announced publically about buying % of Virgin) :)
    Thanks, I've started one!!

that's ridiculous...well done - how exciting...we're looking at booking an October trip to see family then onto Vegas and I'm pretty sure we won't find anything that good but you never know. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We saved Avios, got an Amex card and put every bit of spending on that, plus all tesco points converted to Avios, to get the Companion voucher. Then spent our Avios on business class flights (BA), cost us 100,000 Avios plus around £1000 taxes for the 2 of us.
