I have only flow longhaul once in my adult life and that was to Vegas with Delta. They wouldn't stop feeding me! I was stuffed with food and drink for the entire journey, or so it felt.
Sorry missed the quote.............
Delta don't fly from the UK to Vegas (and indirect certainly wouldn't be stuffing you with food in economy on the domestic leg)

After being almost fed up with Vegas this year, we just booked package with BA for the first time, 7 nights in the Mirage including resort fee and 13 hour flights via Gatwick.
Fly out on 25th November which is over Thanksgiving so we can have a black Friday shopping dayIt'll be cold but who cares.
We're going to NY in March, booked flights and waiting for a hotel nearer the time - does anyone who has been to both have any advice and comparisons between them ? Cheers !!
Not really sure what sort of advice you are after. If you can get more specific I'd post your questions on the New York sticky (on this board) where M4RKM (among others) will be able to answer just about anything.
For us NY was more about sightseeing than Vegas ever will be, although I accept there are plenty of sightseeing activities in Vegas.0 -
I often fly on Delta metal all be it not direct from the UK but I do start in the UK and end up in Vegas and I thought Delta operated from London to Vegas with a connection
I didn't like their Business Class beds.....was more like a coffin.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
I rather like Delta was a FF with them for a while and they really looked after me. I did find their business class a bit odd ,they faffed around so much serving dinner we were nearly 4 hours out before they were done which on a NYC LON overnight was a bit of a pain...no time to sleep in that overpriced big seat (couldn't really complain it was an op up)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

There is no comparison it's like chalk and cheese.
Vegas is one huge resort with everything built for the tourist whereas NYC is like London lots for the tourist to see and do but it all works around the city's usual day to day business.
I agree with the advice to start with the NY board but without knowing what you like to do its a bit harder. I usually avoid eating on Times Square just like Leicester Square it's overpriced and getting off the main drag even just a block or two is nicer and cheaper. Delis are great for lunches.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Not sure if this is actually directed at me.
I went Delta from Manc to Atlanta then Delta from Atlanta to Vegas. The Delta to Atlanta trip I was given 3 or 4 snacks, a main and offered drinks 5+ times. I was offered drins and snacks on the domestic leg.
I have nothing to compare this too because i haven't flown outside of Europe since i was a kid.0 -
Have never flown Delta, I might have the wrong airline, but is that the one that took over Continental? If so, they also fly out of Glasgow and Edinburgh in place of the Continental flights. That said, I have no idea what it says on the planes...but never mind.
I do agree that sometimes you get stuffed with food, but other times I've gone a bit hungry. This year on US Airways they mucked up out meals, we ordered 2 lacto-ovo veg meals. We got one, plus a gluten free. No idea how they thought it was gluten free. Left us in a bit of a predicament as we didn't know what was in the meal, we were then offered cheese pasta, which may not have been vegetarian, so we sort of split the meal. After only having breakfast then getting on the plane at 1030 and not really getting any food, I was really hungry by philly! We were also delayed and on a short connection but thankfully there was a Villa pizza right at our gate so I ran in for a bit of pizza to share as we queued for the flight. On other flights though I've been fed too much, like on Emirates for example. Flying with Emirates again in January so will see if it's the same.0 -
Apparently BA sales have started http://blog.continentalclub.co.uk/flights/british-airways-2014-economy-premium-economy-sale-fares-loaded-19th-december-2013/0
