    Here's one for everyone.

Although not till next May my mates keep asking me what happens regarding our luggage for the connecting flight.

    LHR - SEA - LAS

All the flights are booked first with delta, internal flights are skywest under a delta flight code. Will we have to pick our luggage up in Seattle or will it be checked though and not seen till vegas?

Im getting a mixed answer off the internet.

This has freaked me out a bit because i hadn't even looked into it and i am connecting it Atlanta.

A guy in the office says I check it in at Manchester and wont see it again till Vegas!

for flights into the US you always have to collect your bags at your first port of entry...

if you are booked on a through ticket you will clear immigration, collection your bags, then you clear customs and put the bags on the recheck belt/take them to the recheck area where they will be transferred to your internal flight.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Thanks Pebbles . It sounds like it has some really good points . Did you get a suite with a balcony?

No balcony. I think they are more expensive and we didn't ask seeing as we are here for 6 weeks.

Thanks for the replies. Ive tried the link but it says 'closed group'. I clicked to join but nothing has happened but will persevere:D

They should accept you pretty quickly to the group, then there's a treasure trove of links to get you some chips to play with.

I thought that the first time I connected, didn't realise til I read the leaflet on the flight out of Manchester! :o

Its so easy though, you collect your case and just take it to the connecting flights drop off point. You don't need to do that on the flight home though.

I connected at Seattle 2 weeks ago

Its very easy there (as it is at most US airports)took about half hour to clear immigration, then drop bags on recheck belt, there are clear directions and then back through security check, all in it took about 45 minutes I guess.

  • Yep - pick up bag at first entry and drop off where directed.

On way back you will not see it until you retrieve in the UK.
