2. We have been given a leaflet about Thomsons Travel Money cards. According to the woman at the exchange they are the best thing since sliced bread and the answer to every prayer. However since reading the information it seems that the withdrawal per day is capped at 300 dollars.
We told her that we wanted to take approx 5000 but going off the 300 per 24 hour limit this clearly wouldn't be any use at all.
I suppose the question is, how much are you planning to withdraw each day?0 -
Swingaloo;
We went for 2 weeks in June and took £1500 cash in dollars, then we took my barclaycard and withdrawn around £700 on it and spent £500 on it, it's interest free if paid off next month, we also didn't get charged a withdrawal fee as it had a touch screen which let you select card you was using. This was in the Vdara hotel.
Must of used my barclaycard 40 times whilst over there and never had a decline!
p.s. I did tell them i was going there before i went, they said it wouldn't make a difference but should the fraud team come across it they would have seen notes stating location of holiday etc.0 -
I'm looking for some info on Social rewards. My husband and I have both been doing lots of shares and tweets etc on Social Rewards. We have around 400-500 points for each hotel now.
Now, when we go to trade these in for rewards, do we have to have the minimum of 1000 points for each one? Would be good to get some buffets or drinks credits. I'm wondering though, if we just trade them all for Total Rewards Credits, can we then just use them for whatever we like, and also 'pool' them. What I'm thinking is, for example Bally's we don't tend to eat or drink at, so it would be ideal if we could just pool those points and spend them at other casinos.
Hopefully someone can explain.0 -
Thank you for the replies. The morphine is liquid which is taken by spoon and also in tablet form but he needs both.
My main worry is the oramorph which is liquid as you cant take a liquid in hand luggage. think we will need to speak tot he doctor about this to see of there is an alternative.
You can take prescribed liquids in your hand luggage. I used to take oral iron and needed two big bottles for the length of our trips. I'd still check with the TSA website, but I had no problem changing planes in PHL and ATL with my liquid meds.0 -

Thanks pebbles. I went on to redeem and it seems it would let me, even though I don't have 1000 points on any individual casino yet.
I'm thinking it might be better to just change them all for TR points, although perhaps it's beneficial for buffets if the price ends up going up. There are so many other buffet deals around, I'd hate to change points for one then see it on Groupon nearer the time.
Ok, so we have just come back in September, we probably don't have a lot of Total Rewards points with us being low rollers. I'm thinking we should probably try to keep the cards active though, and it sounds like the points transfer would do that. So, should I maybe transfer 1000 points over every month if I have them? Does this improve any deals on rooms I might get when logged in as well? We don't go back until next September, so I don't want to lose any points or rewards. I know if I don't transfer the points though they will expire after 12 months as well, so perhaps I should just transfer now and again.
I'm quite excited about getting freebies with these points. :j I assume I just use the points to pay at the desk/till - so if we were paying into a buffet we just redeem points using our card? Can points be redeemed anywhere within these casinos - ie including bars?0 -
Your points "pool" on social rewards, so you can merge all your CET points together across all casinos to do a redemption
Ie. 500 @ flamingo, and 500 @ rio can be used for a 1000 redemption
From memory, you can only redeem for TR points. The pictures and descriptions are just examples of where and what the points can then be used for
Just check if they accept payment using TR points before you go in (if that's how you want to pay)0 -
nvh - that would explain, when I went into the 'redeem' page I could only redeem for TR points, it wouldn't let me choose the Java one for example. Perhaps if I had 1,000 on Bally's it might let me choose Java. That said, it all doesn't matter really, I just redeem for points then pay with points.
So, on the other question about timing - do I just begin to change them over gradually? Does this keep your account active when you're not in Vegas for a year?0 -
Yeah. Each time you redeem, and the points land in your TR account (sometimes takes a few weeks), then it counts as activity and keeps your account alive for a further 6 months. I try not to let too many accumulate in my Social rewards account in case the go bust. If I need to ensure my points last in my TR account for a specified amout of time (till my next trip), I'll just balance it all out accordingly
Re: Java - no, it'll just give you the points. No option to redeem for Java (but it's indicative you can then use them at Java).
Basically, you just need to know that 1000 social rewards points are worth $10 worth of TR credits, which you can use anywhere where they accept TR credits as a form of payment (or part payment)0
