my husband regularly looks at youtube videos of slot machines when he's missing Vegas and he came across this one - I recommend keeping the volume down until after 10 seconds in (as about 9 secs he says how much the win is as he could read it on the screen) and the anticipation of 'how much did he win?' is much better without hearing that early on...plus, if you are me, you mentally moved the decimal point and thought he won 1/10 of what he actually did...

$2 stake. TWO DOLLARS. We regularly play $1 and occasionally a bit more...this could have been us!
I cannot even imagine...nor can I even believe that that win was as much as it was...I played an Awesome Burst machine at Luxor on our last day before we dropped off the car and it was rubbish...I may have to give them more of a chance.
Me being me
Do you think it is genuine, there are a couple of posts suggesting its fake.
Can you really win 34,000 on a 1c machine
I am no expert on slots0 -
We are going to Vegas in April and things have changed a lot since we last went so I have a couple of questions please.
1. My partner is on medication including morphine. Will this be any problem with the airport checks?
2. We have been given a leaflet about Thomsons Travel Money cards. According to the woman at the exchange they are the best thing since sliced bread and the answer to every prayer. However since reading the information it seems that the withdrawal per day is capped at 300 dollars.
We told her that we wanted to take approx 5000 but going off the 300 per 24 hour limit this clearly wouldn't be any use at all.
We only saw the information after getting home and the woman at the exchange never pointed it out so I think shes a tad misleading:cool:
Ive also heard that the cards sometimes get refused so my question is - Are they best avoided and if so whats the best way to take the money, or would it be better to get 2 of the cards (1 each) and split the money across each giving us 600 a day limit. We do have a credit card but it only has a low limit and is something we hardly ever use.
Id be grateful for opinions please.

In principle I think you could win that much, though I can't see the paytable or the exact wins as the video isn't that clear - in theory the guy had many 6 of a kinds of the top symbol...and if the machine works like I think it does each reel he has more than one top symbol then the wins are multiplied again..I've had much smaller examples on machines like Buffalo where having extra symbols in the columns increases the win to a whole lot more than it looks like it would be. I'd like to think it's real at least...
Someone in the comments explained it better than me
There we 1,728 6-of-a-kinds. Just do the math, 3 of the guy in the 1st column, 4 in the 2nd, 3 in the 3rd and 4th columns, and 4 in the 5th and 6th.
3 x 4 x 3 x 3 x 4 x 4 = 1728. These machines pay left to right in any positionDoes remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Swingaloo

I'm on daily medication, tablets, and made sure I had them in my hand luggage with a copy of my prescription, and it was fine, they never even asked if I and anything with me. Is the morphine administered by a shringe? If so, then that might be a different situation? I think as long as you have a letter off your doc or a copy of the prescription, you should be fine.0 -
Thank you for the replies. The morphine is liquid which is taken by spoon and also in tablet form but he needs both.
My main worry is the oramorph which is liquid as you cant take a liquid in hand luggage. think we will need to speak tot he doctor about this to see of there is an alternative.0 -
Thanks

I know - my husband always has to explain it to me on Buffalo and similar and I just smile and nod. But effectively the guy had 1728 x $20 each for those high symbols...if he had had one of the guys on each reel it would have been $20...but having multiples on each reel has a very significant impact.
Some of the comments from about 7 months ago indicate that casinos are pulling these machines due to the volatility of them..the comments I noticed were from a guy I have run across before on another forum and seems to know a LOT about slots - the workings of them, not just from playing them (TheShamusOfSlots) so maybe there is some truth to them.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

how big is the bottle? All of the google image search pictures I looked at are 100ml or less and if 100ml or less you can take it in hand luggage in principle, though that doesn't get away from the potential to need to have a prescription/doctor's note in case you are challenged on it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Many cards will have a daily withdrawal limit (both our debit cards are £300/day per card - for years we thought it was £300/day per account)...so having the funds split between more than one may be a good idea...we do normally take some cash with us though - we live in fear of being in Vegas and having issues with our cards. We normally take cash for the first 4-5 days and then start topping up using our debit cards when it becomes clear we need to.
Agree with photome - check the travel money guides...I doubt that the TC card is the best option out there, but will depend on what options are available to you...if anywhere near London MetroBank is great - we have a holiday account with them which is great.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
