Ady, you have to sign the paper slip. No chip and pin for purchases.0

There are no chip and pin machines (I haven't seen any).
Travellers cheques are an option but not the best, but you have left it to late to get the best option ( a cc or debit card)
No idea about the resort fee. Ask when you check in/out or tell them you don't want to pay the last nights fee (if you wont use anything it covers)
Thanks. I tried to go to my local Halifax yesterday but they were shut just after 12 and couldnt get to a city centre one in time.
Guess it will be a cash job!0 -
I had some questions but I seem to have forgotten them!
A woman in a travel agents yesterday said to me that there are not any chip and pin machines in vegas, how true is this? Are travellers cheques a real option or does nobody bother with them? Wanted to get currency today but everywhere is shut and delivery is not an option which leaves only 1 day for me to get them realistically, next Saturday.
My flight home is 7am on the 16th of November, I will be leaving for the airport at about 4.30am I guess. Will Cosmo charge me a resort fee for this day?
if you mean at checkouts in shops, etc. then there aren't (I've never seen one) - you sign instead, on digital displays on the counter (like the postmen/couriers have)0 -
Hi everyone
I looking to plan a 10 night trip to Vegas next September and although I have been before once (back in 2008) I am looking to be much better organised (and MSE) this time.
Haven't booked flights yet as I am hoping the prices will reduce a bit as I would like to travel direct. Currently prices are around £800 return but have only just been released. Will look at hotels once flights are arranged.
My question though is whether you would recommend signing up to mlife and total rewards now? I understand that you need an mlife account to play myvegas (which I intend to start playing) but seem to remember that you often get bonuses for signing up at the casinos.
Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.MFW 2022 #88: £6620/£6000

I have only had my bank card 4 months but it takes a fair old beating and the signature strip is entirely gone. I am going to need a replacement or cash aren't I? Argh!0 -
If you bank with Barclays larger branches now issue replacement on the spot in branch.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I'm not sure anyone has ever looked at the signature strip on the card for us...either they ask for ID with the CC or just have us sign either on the electronic terminal or a paper slip and off we go.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

i don't think the idea is to cross-check the signature on the card with what you sign when making a transaction - it's just for a record... much like if you sign for a delivery, they don't cross-reference the signature or ask for any ID (you could actually be anyone!).0 -
they used to match signatures to the card...I was a cashier in the US in the 80s/90s and we did check the signature on the card matched the signature on the piece of paper but that was a long, long time ago...as I said, I can recall being asked for the card when I swiped it through the reader myself (some of them come up with 'please hand card to cashier') but not anyone actually flipping it over to look at the signature...since many places ask for ID as well it may not matter anyway.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
