Are there any pros and cons regarding the Pyramid rooms against the Tower rooms at the Luxor?0

we're back and good to see that the weather has something particularly interesting for us in the next few days.
will post a trip report of sorts at some point but at the minute I wanted to offer my LVA Member Rewards book to anyone who will be going before the end of the year...will leave it open until Friday with a view to post the book out on Saturday...if interested send me a message with a number between 1 and 50...in case more than one person is interested will use that number for the tie breaker and the closest to the last 2 digits of our room number at TI will get it.
The Bally's shooting was a bit surreal...I went down to the casino from our room about 7:30am and police tape across the entire casino area by the north tower...tons of police (uniformed and not) and casino security...so I had to ask a dealer what happened and I was stunned to hear that there had been a shooting with one person dead...we aren't Drai's people, we would not have been in the club under any circumstances I can imagine so I didn't feel I had been in any danger, but it was really really odd to know that that had happened on the property while we were fast asleep...by the time we left around 11 only a small area was still cordoned off and they were already replacing a section of carpet in the casino back by Drai's. Really odd feeling being there at that point and I was glad that we were moving...again, not because I felt unsafe, it would have just felt strange playing slots right there hours after it all happened.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Welcome back to England. We are just starting our trip and hoping there won't be any more shooting going on.0

Pebblesmax could you give me an idea of the weather there now?We go Monday and every winter I seem to take the wrong things to wear!!We have been 4/5 times in Oct / Nov and the weather has been different every year!!0

Also (probably a daft question but-) I saw an offer for book for 2 nights get a 3rd free at one of the hotels on certain dates. Now, if I want to book for 14 nights and this offer drops in the middle of the dates I want would I still be able to take advantage of the free night?
there are ways to manage this. I and many others on here would actually recommend moving hotels on such a long trip - probably twice (at least, we are doing 3 hotels, 3 nights each on next trip). However if you are set on one hotel then you could make several bookings - 3-4 days per booking to make the most of those types of offers and as long as they are for the same room type the hotel will more than likely morph them all into one booking when you arrive, should you ask.0 -

I just returned yesterday and the weather has been fantastic, a few degrees above average most days about 82.
But the forecast is for a cool down starting Monday and down to a high of 65 on Wednesday, that was the forecast on fox 5 Thursday morning.
As you know though the weather can be very changeable this time of year0 -

It has been warm and sunny since we got here. Long shorts and a sleeveless top was ok yesterday. It's supposed to cool down for a couple of days then get warm again. I'll give you an update tomorrow.0 -
Mid 60s and its still shorts and t shirts for me
4 weeks today and we are there for 7 nights, its been18 months since our last visit so really looking forward to it.
Mrs McP has been trying out Myvegas too, 83,000 points so not a lot of freebies there but fun all the same, trying hard for 2 Bellagio dinner buffets but unlikely to get dinners, lunches possibly !0 -

Just catching up and was surprised to read this - work is indeed cracking on at an impressive pace...our room at Bally's faced the property and it was incredible to see how much was changing day by day...the additional steelwork going in at the top of the property (and a new tower I think?) as well. Hubby spent a considerable amount of time each morning looking out and reporting to me what had happened in the last 24 hours and calling me over to see various bits of impressive machinery at work including some huuuuge drilly thing.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
