Hi everyone. Just after any reviews on Stratosphere? Still looking for super cheap hotels. Anyone stayed there? I like the casino and I have no problem with where it is. My go to hotel was Sahara for many years so I'm cool with that area. I'm trying to do a two week trip and Strat is coming really good for 5 days at the end of it. Cheers everyone!

Also someone was mentioning rock bars not sure who?? but I suggest the Double Down its across from the Hard Rock hotel. Great place with live bands every weekend. Also free entry plus its Vegas it never closes!!

It was meeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! Ok i will note that down and go and check it out :D thanks!!!

Yeah i think im going to have to blag this somehow!

If i say that my misses is a very nervous passenger etc and suffers from asthma, which she does...You reckon that might help the case lol Is there something they have to do if someone makes them aware before the flight etc?

You can go online and prebook your seats months in advance, as soon as you have the 'US Airways record locator' which would be shown on your booking confirmation. Bit late now though if they've allocated you two separate seats. Best thing to do is ask nicely. To be honest if you start saying that she needs you there due to her asthma they might question her being able to take the flight. I'd be careful with that. Just make sure you're there very early and ask nicely. Failing that you may need to go to the gate early and ask nicely, and if that doesn't work then once you're on the plane they might be able to arrange. I've seen the cabin crew doing this on flights. I'm sure it will be fine.

Very valid points!! The plane leaves at 12:15 and we are getting to heathrow for about 9am MAX, which im hoping leaves us enough time, we will be real nice and try and smooth things over, if they have seats available (which they do as they are offering them us) i dont see why they wont change it as we have not checked in yet etc, i will let you know when i attempt a little trip report as you guys have been so helpful haha)

Thanks guys, i will speak to you all when i come back! Thanks for the advice and making me feel so welcome in the forum, its been a pleasure

Maybe I missed something, but have you tried logging into the US Airways site now with your details and changing the seats you have assigned to you?

I know the first time we did the NYC on Premium on Virgin I dropped the ball by only reserving the seats on the way out, not the way back, row of three limited recline right next to the toilets for me, other half and some ex american footballer of a sized human lol

If you're cool with that area and the placement of where the Strat is on the strip, then I'd definetly recommend it. We've stayed there twice, first time only for 2-3 nights as part of a tour, the second time for a week, and we liked it and didn't find any fault with it as a hotel, it was just the distance from any other hotel and having to get taxis constantly that did it for us and made us look elsewhere.

I'm a fan of rock bars too! Didn't know about that one!

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel that has a swimming pool and an onsite casino that is not on the strip.

Previously we have stayed at the Tropicana and the MGM but am looking for somewhere that's not directly on the strip but within a mile or so taxi ride from the strip as OH is disabled now so think we prob wont do as much walking this time.

Can anyone tell me where I am likely to be able to watch Man Utd v Arsenal on Sunday 10th Nov in Vegas?

Most sportsbooks will put it on if you ask (if not already on) saves going anywhere outside your hotel at 7am (assuming a 3pm kick off)

And of course you can still get your free drinks

We are heading to LV nest April/May and Ive been reading through the threads on here and theres so much information to take in!!!

I have noticed that every so often I see something about playing some kind of slots game which gives you various discounts around hotels etc. Where do I find this game?

Also I have a question about the pre paid cards- Ive seen post about the FairFX cards. Are they better than using travellers cheques? If so, is this the card to choose or are there better ones?

Also (probably a daft question but-) I saw an offer for book for 2 nights get a 3rd free at one of the hotels on certain dates. Now, if I want to book for 14 nights and this offer drops in the middle of the dates I want would I still be able to take advantage of the free night?

IMO you are better off using a Halifax clarity card or other card that offers zero withdrawal fees and zero loading

I withdrew $800 from casino royale ATM a few days ago charge was $1 total cost just over £493, giving me a rate of 1.622. as an example, rate at ASDA today is 1.58

I have paid off the card on my return so only paid about £2 in interest on 2 x $800 withdrawals
