My question though is whether you would recommend signing up to mlife and total rewards now? I understand that you need an mlife account to play myvegas (which I intend to start playing) but seem to remember that you often get bonuses for signing up at the casinos.

Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the rewards you can accumulate between now and then are worth more than the $10 or $20 you might get on the strip.

I know this is a Vegas thread, and we are on our way there today , so I will update while there too but I know a few have been talking about LA lately so given yesterday was shopping day we did two of the outlets, the first at Camarillo and the second at citadel. Let's get the second out oft he way first, it was absolutely heaving and lacking in anything worth shopping get here for. As it was so busy the discounts were poor and the selection limited.

Camarillo is about 30-40 west of downtown LA, as such it gets less footfalls o the discounts are greater. 40% off clearance stock in nike brought t shirts down to sub $6 inc tax, ugg slippers (FIL) worked out at £60 inc tax. The biggest bargain of all was the north face. Coats and fleeces from between £60-£200 in the uk were on racks at $39.99 - $42 ish with tax, around £30!!!

If in LA with a car, take the pch up the coast and cross over to Camarillo, worth it for the outlets for sure...

Next update will be a first impression of LV .....

Tempting, I fly into LA on Thursday (for the Breeders cup) I'm staying at the Commerce which is only just down the road from the Citadel, it's 62 miles from the Camarillo so interested but a bit far in the opposite direction from Santa Anita. I'll be using Rubys in the Citadel for early breakfast on Friday and Saturday, will visit Ozzies for an early breakfast for my drive to Vegas on the Sunday. If the centre is as busy as you say it is, it might quieten down after say 6pm when I get back from the races. If not then I'll have to stop off at Primm or Premium South as usual.

Might do my second visit to Peggy Sue's on the way, which means a light breakfast at Ozzies.......Or do Ozzies on the Saturday and just head straight for Peggys on the Sunday.........decisions, decisions.......
  • Aaargh this has started me off, I've been pretty cool about going on Thursday. I know I shouldn't have read the post!!! I'd not started to pack or anything and was quite smug and low key, now I'm twitchy sitting at my desk, my colleague is giving me strange looks as I sit here mumbling to myself (normal you say!).

Bacon double cheese with curly fries and a chocolate malt in Peggy's......I want it NOW!

    Haha - :D

We never did Peggy Sues. Made the decision to do Penny's instead (around the corner). Can't grumble about it - staff were nice and food was edible (there's not many boxes to tick when I'm in the middle of the dessert tho ;):D )

Found direct flights for June 2014 with FlyThomasCook to Vegas from Manchester for £540 including baggae, meal and taxes.

Arrive in Vegas 2pm. Flight back home is 3.55pm and arriving in Manchester at 9.45am. This looks like a good deal?

Ive just tried to find these as we want to go in May or June. I can find the times you quote but adding meals , baggage and choosing seats comes out at £642. That's searching right through May & June.

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
