Would taking this shuttle instead of a taxi be a good way to get an idea of the strip and hotels in general? Unless you're the 1st hotel LOL I'm thinking it might be worth doing this (staying in the Paris) to get our bearings and a little bit of a tour haha

It's not a bad idea on arrival if you fancy a tour. Personally I'm usually tired, need a freshen up, excited and want to get checked in. You might feel differently though. I'd be concerned about my return journey if I was using a shuttle though.

Swenson to Tropicana to Orleans is cheapest, but that depends on the traffic.

The driver will sometimes tell you there is a hold up on Tropicana and say it's quicker via the tunnel, but it's not usually true in my experience.

I've had some horrible experiences with taxi drivers, so avoid them like the plague.

Tropicana was pretty busy when we were using it recently, however it was the section just after the strip around the I-15 that was busy, so tunnel might not have helped with that anyway.

Groupon needs to stop tempting me...we really like Toby Keith's so this one we may go for.

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Hey Lesley just followed you over on Twitter. I find the Social Rewards program really easy and far less time consuming than MyVegas. I managed to rack up around $200 for my trip last May. I do find that there doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason to the way they issue Total Rewards points within the actual resorts though. I managed to earn points for "gaming" which is hilarious as I didnt place a single bet that whole trip.

    Thanks very much for this.

Apparently it is 15 followers that are needed :( If anyone else uses twitter, can you please follow me @lesleyclark3 would be much appreciated.

You go onto Swenson and then onto Paradise. Swenson heads north east after Koval, so you don't really want to be staying on it all the way to Flamingo Road. I'm not sure that $19 is that high, given the airport surcharge and likely traffic in the early evening.

Sorry ment to say "instead"of going into Paradise he stayed on Swenson all the way to e. flamingo. Also I am sure he stayed on the airport perimeter road for a heck of a long time, hard to tell what he did but it took ages to get onto Swenson, it should take less than a minute from T3. We have done that twice before and it costs $14 including the $2 airport levy.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Can anyone recommend a good buffet for a boozy weekend brunch? We were thinking bellagio, or wicked spoon, though in the market for other options that may be good value and have a wider range of drinks.

  • Bellagio had 'champagne', heineken, margaritas (I think) and bloody marys (I think). You had to choose one of those, then it was unlimited amounts of your choice. You can't switch drinks. Drinks bump is $10 and available on all meals.
