Up shoot is she is going to look after us when we are next in town.

how fantastic- we really do love the rooms there...what a great contact to have...sorry to hear about the barman, but I suppose this is a good example of things happen for a reason. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Can anyone help me with MyVegas rewards? I have seen that you can get Beatles LOVE tickets. It says something about $109 plus LET tax ($104 retail value per ticket)....what does that all mean?? Lol
Has anyone used MyVegas for tickets before and does it actually save you money?
    Thanks everyone x

THe price listed is what the tickets would be if you bought them. Through MyVegas, "buy" them for points, phone them up when you get there, let them know what performance you want to see, they arrange for the tickets to be ready for you to pick up at the box office. Wander down to the box office (there will be a cut off tim to pick them up), pick up your tickets, go and see the show.

Total cost in actual money ....nothing (assuming you go for the single/double ticket option rathe than the "companion" ticket.

oh, when you phone them up, know where in the theatre you would like to be as they generally do ask if you are happy with the seats suggested.

Hi, I'm desperate to go back, but no way can I afford 4 direct flights next year for the school hols in August, if the prices now, are anything to go by. However, I'm seeing some purse friendly prices with a 6 in the front, rather than an 8 for indirect. This would be with swiss air or Air Canada? Any thoughts good or bad, I'd love to hear. Thanks.

Ok, so I've swerved MyVegas as we've not had a trip booked. But now we have a holiday booked for Easter 2014, is it worth me starting playing now.what sort of stuff can I expect to get if I start playing now, on a fairly regular but not obsessive basis?

I'd probably set up a temporary Facebook account as if I have to add lots of random friends, I don't want people seeing my personal profile - will that work?

Edit - haha, I just read a detailed blog post which basically said it's not worth it! That should save me some time then :D
  • Does anyone use shuttle buses from the airport to hotel? Just reading up on the continuing nightmares about rip-off taxis, so thinking an airport shuttle might be the way. Any major disadvantages? Are they easy to book in advance of arriving on LV?
  • I don't recall people on here saying they use shuttles. I think most use taxis and just know what to ask the driver to do. Usual instructions are 'via Swenson' although this still depends where you are staying. Some hotels are much quicker to get to via 'the tunnel'.

If you tell us where you are staying someone will be able to advise.

Our cabbie took us via Swenson to Platinum, but then also via Paradise, came to $19 (should have been $14) so I gives him $20. He says "the fare was $19", I said "yes, the $1 tip is for taking the long route" at which point he stands well back from the cab and says "well get your own bags out then"
But then I am writing this after being long hauled in Nottingham, £8 fare that should have been £6. He got the £6.
They really should stick to doing this to the students and not the adults.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We have had a ton of comps from MyVegas. Granted, the rewards have diminished somewhat recently, but we got $1200 worth of food and drinks on our trip in Apr/May. This trip we will get a couple of free shows, a few b1g1 meals and a couple of free buffets. What's not to like once you get used to playing at the optimum levels.

It comes off the back of reading this
    http://www.vegaschatter.com/story/2013/9/20/182416/844/vegas-travel/%27Tips+From+An+Honest+%28Cab%29+Driver%27

Which says even telling the driver does not guarantee the direct route - they're 'cheeky' enough to not take by the tunnel but will still find a long way round!

So I thought it might be worth trying out the airport shuttles for a few dollars per person.

But then part of me thinks, and it's not very MSE, but if I get charged $25 instead of $15, I don't really care, I just want to get to my hotel asap :D
