Just arrived back home. Had a couple of good nights on the craps table that more than made up for the previous carnage.
Had to complain about a barman at the Cosmo to a manager that happened to be there. He took us to the Vesper bar and bought us a couple of drinks each, chatting away and seems he knows Claire that used to be our contact at the Platinum, she is now front desk manager at the Cosmo, so he texts her to come over and join us. Up shoot is she is going to look after us when we are next in town.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
  • Quick question about to buy show tickets from ticketmaster for Penn and Teller- it says if you are in the US then you can print electronic tickets and for international you have to collect from Will Call and charge you $2.50 - just wondered whether there was a way round so you can just print off the tickets Thanks

    Morning all :)
Any of u stayed in the Vdara / Signature????

For the budget I've set us, as long as I can do some wheelin & dealin like before, those 2 hotels could fall in-line......

Would be spending 8 nights in those hotels, and as said before, our main thing for choosing a hotel is the pool! All day is spent in the sun, so picked MBay and Luxor a few months ago as both got big pools and lots of sun loungers (luxor was good as it had 1 private pool!).....
Cant see to find many photos of Vdara pool to gauge its scale or figure out if its a busy place pool wise ?!! (same for the Sig)
Or could you use the main pools at the MGM Grand if staying in the Sig ? (not sure if they are linked providing a walkthrough ?)

My Budget is: £800 (May/memorial week!) , which is for 4 nights LV, 2 LA, 8 LV :):)
Staying in the Hilton in LA, which works out to be £105..

Was just at the Sig this time last month :(. It's a beautiful property. You get full use of the Sig pools-which looked boring tbh, as well as the MGM pools. Try owners by signature direct and see what they can do for you. I paid 1.2k for 14 nights for a 1 bedroom with balcony and strip view. It was lovely and fully stocked. Usually when I've rented villas in Florida, I've had to stock up for laundry and dishwashing tabs. Here everything was supplied for the length of my stay.

  • Think I have saved every penny/cent possible for our trip at the end of October, but if anyone comes across any special offers for MJ One can they please let me know! Already going to Zumanity (thanks to myVegas) but would love to go to One IF price was right. Otherwise what can I say - gives me a great excuse to come back next year!

Does anyone have a copy of the American casino guide 2013,I've noted on their list of vouchers on their website, there is $10 off Matt Goss tickets, but I'm not too sure if I can use it online or in person , as would rather book in advance.
I bought the guide last year but only managed to use one of the vouchers out of the whole book, so not too sure if to buy it this year.
    Many thanks

Can anyone help me with MyVegas rewards? I have seen that you can get Beatles LOVE tickets. It says something about $109 plus LET tax ($104 retail value per ticket)....what does that all mean?? Lol
Has anyone used MyVegas for tickets before and does it actually save you money?
    Thanks everyone x

  • We didn't buy one this year - first time in years we haven't. We had LVA instead - much better coupons, but not a Matt Goss coupon.

You would have to book in person to use the coupon. We went to that show and tried to book on the day and couldn't get tickets, so had to book for next day instead. Could you maybe phone the box office and ask what is the best deal they can do for you (maybe even mention the $10 off in the ACG and see if they will just match it without the coupon)? We booked for Penn & Teller at the box office, we had gone over to The Rio hoping to get tickets for that night then go for dinner etc. They guy at the box office apologised that it had been cancelled that night, and then gave us a locals deal for another night, it was slightly cheaper than all other offers I've seen since, and also included a show programme. I think maybe the box office have ability to offer deals if you ask. If you don't ask for deals I suspect you are often sold more expensive tickets.

Goodness I didn't know Matt Goss was still on the go...I'm taken back to being a teenager!
Thanks for the help Lesley74. Not sure what we are going to do. This is more complicated than I imagined. All these last minute things take a lot of time up.

Our latest quandary is car hire insurance excess....we've never had this problem in previous years of visiting America. Can anyone advise us?
    Thanks again

littlemissbossy - Loved your trip report! What $1 slot machine did you play? I always tend to play the low stakes ones! Might go up a notch!

Also where did you get your MJ tix from dont know whether to book before we go?

We are off on trip no6 on the 1st October - 11th - Staying at the Aria, we always vowed to stay in a different hotel everytime we go but fell in love last year.

I am also worried about immigration as we are going again on the 14th November with some friends as the other halfs are going to see the UFC fight. We are staying in MGM that time.

The 1st trip we are going direct with Virgin but the second we are having a stop each way!

    Am :)
