Which says even telling the driver does not guarantee the direct route - they're 'cheeky' enough to not take by the tunnel but will still find a long way round!
So I thought it might be worth trying out the airport shuttles for a few dollars per person.
But then part of me thinks, and it's not very MSE, but if I get charged $25 instead of $15, I don't really care, I just want to get to my hotel asap
I have used Showtime shuttle a couple of times. Round trip to strip hotel is $13. Be prepared for a wait though as it may be a while before the shuttle bus fills up. Then your hotel could be the last drop off on the route.0 -
I don't recall people on here saying they use shuttles. I think most use taxis and just know what to ask the driver to do. Usual instructions are 'via Swenson' although this still depends where you are staying. Some hotels are much quicker to get to via 'the tunnel'.
If you tell us where you are staying someone will be able to advise.
Is Planet Hollywood one of those hotels or not?0 -
Start packing today or tomorrow I think!0

Whats the best way from airport to Orleans? Thanks in advance.0

This is us, I'm afraid...we haven't taken a shuttle since maybe our first trip - didn't like the waiting for enough people to be on the shuttle to depart, the stopping at several hotels before us...most trips for years we picked up a hire car straight after arrival so drove ourselves but lately we have been delaying pick up until the next day and taking a taxi.
We have been longhauled before, and we don't say 'no tunnel'...we normally would just say take us the cheapest way if that was our preference. As it stands we normally request the fastest way though it may be more expensive.
But that's just us - when we arrive we're excited and just want to get to the hotel and have a shower and hit the casino...I know its wrong (and illegal) for drivers to longhaul passengers.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Would taking this shuttle instead of a taxi be a good way to get an idea of the strip and hotels in general? Unless you're the 1st hotel LOL I'm thinking it might be worth doing this (staying in the Paris) to get our bearings and a little bit of a tour hahaHalifax loan - 6800 - 198 DD a month
Barclay card 0% - £2000 - £150 DD a month0 -

The driver will sometimes tell you there is a hold up on Tropicana and say it's quicker via the tunnel, but it's not usually true in my experience.
I've had some horrible experiences with taxi drivers, so avoid them like the plague.0 -

I'd probably set up a temporary Facebook account as if I have to add lots of random friends, I don't want people seeing my personal profile - will that work?
Edit - haha, I just read a detailed blog post which basically said it's not worth it! That should save me some time then
I was a bit late getting on MyVegas with just under a month before we actually leave! I have one week left before we go and currently have just shy of 40k LP! Granted I have been playing it loads and although 40k will just get us a free buffet each it's free so can't complain at all!0 -

It can be but no guarantee you won't be first or second with Paris
I rather like the shuttle- if only one or two people it's cheaper and fairly quick and if I'm not first off I enjoy my "free Strip tour". People on shuttles are usually quite friendly and chatty too.
You don't need to prebook -just go to the shuttle area -nd take your pick of company -they are all the same price (or find a voucher for a discount online before you arrive).
I personally don't shuttle it back to the airport at the end of a trip though as the pick up times are often ridiculously early to allow for them (usually) running late. I don't want stress at the end of my trip wondering if they are going to show up -Far easier to hop into a cab at the hotel -there's never a problem getting one.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

I've read so many stories over the years of return shuttles not turning up resulting in a panicky taxi journey that the idea of shuttling back to the airport brings me out in a cold sweat.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
