  • I can see your point photome.

I've not tried the likes of Wicked Spoon, Caesars, Aria yet. I'm sure they are good, but then you get to a price level where as you say you might prefer waiter service.

I enjoy a buffet because I never take a plateful of anything. I enjoy making my own salad, and then having tastes of various things. Champagne helps. And then a couple of little bits of desserts. We tend not to eat as much in restaurants because if we did it would be pasta...pizza...pasta...etc. We're veggie and feel a bit limited in restaurants sometimes. When we go to the Wynn buffet for dinner it's a treat. When we went for breakfast it was good value because we didn't need lunch. It's my favourite buffet, although I like Bellagio very much too. I don't mind paying for them because I know they're reliably good, and I'll save money by only having one more small meal that day.

I haven't had the Planet Hollywood buffet for a good few years, I'm a bit scared to try it now after all the bad reports, but with that said I like other things that others don't so it's not really a definite that we'd hate it now. Used to go to it back in the good times at Aladdin when they did the slot tournament. Did you pay $25, and get $10 off buffet and $10 slot credit or something like that....and sometimes a prize in the tournament?

we haven't had the Excalibur buffet in years and years but when we did oh so long ago it was edible and without anything to compare it to it was fine, we thought...we would not choose it now - too many other options available...not sure if they have sorted out their weird seating thing though...it used to be queue, pay, get in queue for food, get food, THEN get seated...so you would be standing there with a plate of hot food waiting your turn to be seated while the food started cooling down...which was clearly just dumb. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I loved that, I really miss that...I think at one point it was $25 entry fee and you got a free buffet...I think at another point it was $25 entry fee + a gift (we have Aladdin sweatshirts and a picnic blanket because of this)...there could have been other permutations.

I LOVED the idea of the grand prize being 1 pull on every $1 slot machine in the casino.

Ailuro2 - When are you going??If you are going in October then I would defo recommend Eli Roths Goretorium,I would think a 14 year old would love it,it is open all year as well, but at Halloween it's more full on.We had just walked out of Walgreens minding our own business when a thing,I can only describe him as horrific chased me outside onto the bridge and I was screaming my head off!!
Also I don't know if this is her thing but you can pay for her to be a dolphin trainer for the day at Mirage Secret Garden.

The Paris buffet is good it is one of the better ones BUT the dinner deal is sold out which was def the better deal of the 2 and the queue is always loooong. I think its a good deal even if you dont have the alchohol (soda is free anyway).

the worst is possibly IP if we are sticking to strip buffets, I was talking toungue in cheek about excalibur being the worst, but it does rank in many peoples bottom 3 lists

Shows what I know about the soda! We've never been to a buffet before, as we never usually have big appetites, but we fancy giving one or maybe two a try.

soda is free, so is coffee and tea...milk and juice too.
one of our memories of PH buffet (I think it may have still been Aladdin) was our server asking if we wanted coffee with our dessert...it had never occurred to us to ask for a different drink to the sodas we already had.

OK, looking for opinions on what to do in Las Vegas that will totally impress a 14 year old girl who is vegetarian, into black veil brides and generally loves being hard to make her jaw drop.

Within Vegas itself, please ( we're coming to Vegas via Sedona, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon so she'll have done the scenery stuff ) She's been in a helicopter before, so that's off the list too.

Thanks in advance. Budget not too much of an issue on this one.:)

going along with the music taste, might she appreciate KISS mini golf?

or a meal at Cabo Wabo (owned by Sammy Hagar), has a rock'n'roll vibe, plus you can sit on the terrace and eat pretty much on the strip.

Is she into Steampunk stuff? If yes RX Boiler Room is a must. My daughter loved it (similar tastes to above). I've never been to the Hard Rock Hotel in LV so it may be different but the Orlando one has a lot of cool rock memorabilia. Bettie Page has two stores (at least) which may appeal, as well as already mentioned Hot Topic. My clan would be horrified if I suggested Michael Jackson though....!
  • Has the spice market buffet went downhill then? Went about 4 years ago and thought it was great, loved the big crabs legs! Where can I go for my big crabs legs now?
