    Morning all :)
Any of u stayed in the Vdara / Signature????

For the budget I've set us, as long as I can do some wheelin & dealin like before, those 2 hotels could fall in-line......

Would be spending 8 nights in those hotels, and as said before, our main thing for choosing a hotel is the pool! All day is spent in the sun, so picked MBay and Luxor a few months ago as both got big pools and lots of sun loungers (luxor was good as it had 1 private pool!).....
Cant see to find many photos of Vdara pool to gauge its scale or figure out if its a busy place pool wise ?!! (same for the Sig)
Or could you use the main pools at the MGM Grand if staying in the Sig ? (not sure if they are linked providing a walkthrough ?)

My Budget is: £800 (May/memorial week!) , which is for 4 nights LV, 2 LA, 8 LV :):)
Staying in the Hilton in LA, which works out to be £105..

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

we've just booked our 4th trip to Vegas and it'll be our 4th stay at Vdara! sad, but it's just a perfect hotel for us!

anyway, the pool isn't the biggest, it's on the 3rd floor over looking the big roundabout with the Aria across the way. it seems to get busy at lunchtime/afternoons, but we've never had a problem getting a couple of beds when heading down mid-morning.

it's more of an adult hotel (not like that!) than a family hotel, so you might get the odd kid or three in there, but not very often. there's also a big jacuzzi pool and of course cabanas, day beds, etc. There's plenty of spots both in the sun and in the shade.

are you on instagram? if you search for #vdara tags, there's a few pics of the pool. There's a really good one just been posted on this user's account:

edit - for a bit wheeler dealing, their contact is GuestServices@vdara.com - you get an automated reply, they can take 5/6 days to reply, but they will reply and have always been really helpful :)

hehe, it can get hot in very particular places, but they have heaps of umbrellas anyway ;)

I think the guy needs to go back to design school, what with that and the Walkie Talkie building in London, he's trying to give everyone 3rd degree burns!
  • The Vdara pool is very small and quiet. It is just a regular pool with no fancy features. There is also a smaller hot pool just next to it which is quiet nice. So, it is good for relaxing and a bit of sun and peace and quiet, not good if you're looking to have fun or party or have kids with you.

the pool naturally matches the ethos of the hotel - it's boutique, non-smoking, no casino, calmer, not really a family hotel. I'm pretty sure you can use the Aria pool (which is minutes away) and wouldn't be surprised if you could use other MGM pools.

it does have music playing in the background all the time (not too loud, but loud enough to hear) - and it's right up our street, everything from motown, kt tunstall, muse, foster the people, etc. :)

just me and the wife going, no kids :)
Not into the big pool party thing, without sounding boring, I like it when its quiet, cos it means more space in the water for me! hah !!!
What we liked about the Luxor is, there is 1 pool which you pay to use, $5 for a normal lounger, $25 for a super comfy, and then onto cabana's, etc.... but the pool was practically ours which was awesome! We got down to the pool early in MBay to make sure we got beds as that got busy after 11am!

We gamble anywhere, so not fussed on whether hotel has a casino, just figured that the price showing on LowCostUsa for Vdara and Signature is looking OK for 8 nights.....
My LA thing is sorted, gonna be in the Hilton in Valencia, right outside SixFlags themepark! woohoooo !

So on a scale of 1 to 10, how busy will the park be on 24th or 25th May ? (yup, Sat/Sun of Memorial weekend!) Arggghhhh !!!!! :D
  • we're just the same with the pool, prefer it to be a bit quiet, no kids, etc :D so Vdara should offer you just that.

and a 5min stroll you can be in the Cosmo/Bellagio casino, or 2mins into the Aria casino... or jump on the monorail and be at a Monte Carlo slot in 10mins :)
