  • 10am and still no sunshine. :(

Yesterday we went down to Primm and back up via shops at Blue Diamond just past Silverton (hadn't been there before and saw there was some stuff there before we came). Then over to TJ Maxx and Albertsons over at Maryland Parkway.

Last night we had drinks at Stir, then headed over to Harrah's for groupon buffet with drinks. Then after that walked over to Cosmopolitan, then down to Planet Ho to used our Blondie's happy hour. Trying to use these vouchers but getting a bit sick of alcohol lol.

There is no way I could drive home from Manchester after the trip home. It's just over two hours, but I'd be afraid I'd fall asleep at the wheel. We always take the train home after a transatlantic flight.

My husband drives back up to Cumbria, I did suggest in the past either getting the train back or stopping over at Manchester, but he prefers to drive. It's probably easier for us tbh because once we'd got the train to Carlisle, we'd have to get another train back home, or drive from there, either way, it's still another hours journey on top. I'm glad he does it though, as I don't think I'd be too keen, as I struggle to keep my eyes open once we are back in the car. It does help that we land in the day while it is still light.

Well you should come down to the pool now. 85 degrees sun is shining and me an Tracy have the place to ourselves.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
  • easter, 8 nights at vdara, direct flights with virgin - 961pp
argh i'm tempted! good price do we think?
  • Re the airport travelling, we use the train for several reasons, not just because I'm a wimp at driving.

It's far more MSE than spending a ton of money on parking at Manchester for 50 days, which would be the average time we go to Vegas for.

I feel like I'm on holiday as soon as I get on the train, so that's a bit of a bonus too.

I hate driving and always have. I only learnt to drive because my dad wouldn't let me get a bigger motorbike when I was 17 if I didn't.

You've got me worried now pebble haha!

Our flight is at 12:15 on 26th october, We can get the 05:50 from Birmingham to Paddington for £21 (for 2) then get this heathrow shuttle for £68 return for the 2 of us (does this have a timetable as doesnt seem to give you one) Just puts two tickets in a basket for you?

Then the train back would be 12:55 as we land at 09:25 in heathrow, then i presume just jump on with this heathrow shuttle thing and then the train home.

train would be £100, just relys on trains and public transport more which i worry about!

If there are 2 of you traveling on the Heathrow Express, use the code 'duo12' when you book via the HEX site, this will drop the price to £50 for 2 return tickets.

Leaves you a few more pennies for Vegas. :)

You go to Vegas for 50 days? That's a long time! But really cool at the same time!

I know what you mean about feeling that your holiday starts as soon as you get on the train. I love travelling by train, and enjoy going first class to London. You can just sit back and relax, and their breakfasts are lovely too!

I don't mind driving, but haven't been on motorways too often, I've done it (me and my Dad went down to Warrington to get my car....that was an adventure! :rotfl: ), but I don't really enjoy it, and prefer it for someone else to drive if possible.
