we live and fly from London and we stopped bothering with the car some time ago - we just use the train there the night before, stay in a hotel at the airport, and book a taxi home (appreciate taxi home may be a step too far in this case)...too many times getting stuck in traffic on the M25 and nearly in tears as so tired - just not worth it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

whats weather like in Vegas over Xmas ? (xmas day and surrounding days)
snowing ?
COLD ? no sunshine or heat at all, etc ?
Raining ?

Average highs low teens, average lows single digits but obviously could be warmer or colder. it doesn't rain all that often in Vegas overall and snows even less often...when we have been in December it's generally been sunny, but certainly not hot...I would LOVE to be in Vegas in the snow...jealous of those of you who were there last time.
One day we will be in Vegas for Christmas...Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Going to see friends hoildaying in Vegas next April for four days before then driving to LA Via a couple of places, as not really my thing is there anything of interest other than the obvious Gambling, eating & drinking to do whilst there, I'm a 50 yr old skateboarder also, on a fairly low budget!0

Stoneman - not sure if you will read this when you arrive. A few posts ago you mentioned going to happy hour at Stir (I think at 6pm tomorrow night) and nvh has said they are thinking about popping over for happy hour tomorrow night too.
We are hoping it will dry up for some pool time tomorrow before we go to return our car. We may even see you at the pool if you are there. Our car is due back at 230, we'll likely go with plenty of time then still plan to do Wynn buffet (with Champagne bump) around 230pm, but then we'll head back to Stir for happy hour around 6pm....all being well. Hopefully nvh will confirm if this suits them...and we can have a mini-meet at 6.
Excuse us though if we get good champagne service at Wynn and we end up a bit tipsy :rotfl:
We will be in there about 6:30. I gotta hear what's going on over at the MirageThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

I drive all the time after transatlantic - but i think the regularity of when I do it might be why its no real problem for me.
For Parking if you do drive then go for Purple Parking, I use the business location on the heathrow perimeter - plenty codes and cash back around - think I paid £50 for 11 nights after cashback for this trip...0 -

There's plenty to do outside those categories - a lot more of if you have a car when in Vegas?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
You've got me worried now pebble haha!
Our flight is at 12:15 on 26th october, We can get the 05:50 from Birmingham to Paddington for £21 (for 2) then get this heathrow shuttle for £68 return for the 2 of us (does this have a timetable as doesnt seem to give you one) Just puts two tickets in a basket for you?
Then the train back would be 12:55 as we land at 09:25 in heathrow, then i presume just jump on with this heathrow shuttle thing and then the train home.
Would that be advised given the time frame etc?
Parking is £80-90 in heathrow then maybe £30 fuel
train would be £100, just relys on trains and public transport more which i worry about!
Dont let pebbles worry youI drive home from gatwick after that red eye flight and it can sometimes take 4 hours (norwich) I bloody hate it though, which is why I sometimes do the connecting non direct flight from Norwich
