Well, no sunbathing today for us. Went out earlyish to Red Rock for b/fast and then through red rock to bonnie springs out towards blue diamond. Was quite fun/different. We went a few years back but red rock was on fire and it was closed. It was very quaint but worth a visit if you like animals and getting close to them.
Onto shops at Canyon Pointe, North Rainbow, then Walmart etc. Back to Palazzo, got ready and down to happy hour at Grand Lux. Then stopped briefly at casino bar (happy hour till 8), then over to Mirage for buffet. Quite disappointed and so was Kevin. They had fairly little veggie stuff. Salad was selected and tossed by a 'chef'. Tried some other stuff and food very salty, including the pizza. I don't salt my food much at home so I am maybe sensitive to salt - but Kevin also thought it was qiuite salty. Sadly the nachos and pico de gallo were the best for me....not really an item I'd expect to call the best on a buffet. I guess this shows we all have different tastes in food..
Over to Samba for a Caipirinha, then back to Palazzo and had some success on the drinks service. I think it must be patchy.
Really tired now.0 -

To get to the Top of the World restaurant, do you first have to pay to get into the tower? If so, I'll get some tickets off Travelzoo where they are a third off the price.
Even though we've stayed there twice before, we never actually went up the tower.
No if you have reservations at Top of the World you do not have to pay for tower admission. IIRC there is an area to check in for the restaurant downstairs and then you go up in the lift...but it's been ages - someone else will have more recent experience but I am sure you do not have to buy tickets for the tower to get to the restaurant.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

ThanksI didn't think you'd have to, but after browsing Travelzoo late last night and seeing the tower tickets on offer, I thought that if you did, I'd buy some and be prepared!

Hi All,
We are flying to San Francisco on the 13th (next week!) and working our way to Las Vegas where we will be from the 25th to the 29th (four nights) the last three nights have been booked, the Venetian, but we have no hotel for the 25th (this is because we changed our itinerary at the last minute! Any recommendations for a good deal? We are looking to spend between $100-$200 dollars. We will be encouraged to spend the higher end of the budget if it is a super amazing deal.
Although it is the second time we have been to Vegas we have no real plans (meals, shows, activity wise), so if anyone has seen any good deals for this period please do recommend.
Thanks

I booked my hotel @ The Palazzo through the top secret hotels on Lasminute.com. I got £90 a night rate which was phenomenal.
Take a look and come back here with an option and we'll try to work out what hotel it is they are describing.
You'll know if its Venetian/Palazzo as the description is a 5-star room that's a Suite.0 -
Myvegas is a free slots game on facebook .....bit like Farmville but with slots and you earn points that can be converted into free room nights, meals, attraction tickets etc. You earn extra "money" to play by adding friends and gifting to other players.
Like other facebook games you *can* pay to progress faster but if you
are happy to have it running in the background whilst you do other things you don't need to -you just earn a bit slower.
My favourite bargain meal in Vegas is breakfast at the Orleans (just off Strip) $7 for buffet breakfast(think it's a dollar off that if you get their player card) all you can eatI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

For that date there are no 5 stars and only one 4 star (on last minute.com) The four star is:
Walk in the footsteps of celebrities in this trendy and lively casino with a vibrant nightlight! This off-the-Strip hotel is known for its crazy parties. Don't worry it may be off strip but only just. Rooms are spacious and swanky with a super-sleek and ultra-modern feel
The price is 106.24
I would rather not stay at a party hotel (I know that sounds weird, it is Vegas after all...)
Also it is our honeymoon, so I have asked my partner today to email all the hotels we are staying at and let them know that0 -
Try hotwire.com - same principle but in dollars -expedia do it too on both their .co.uk and .com sites.
That hotel sounds like the Palms btwI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
