I have to remember to fill out my passport numbers, the website i got them off said i need to add it to my booking b4 we fly? Also sign up to this visa aswell? Thats all fairly standard is it not? I went to NY and filled it out ont he plane i think!

You need to fill in the Advanced Passenger Information prior to flying (passport number etc). You also need to apply for travel authorisation under the ESTA Visa waiver scheme before you travel (or for a Visa if you don't have a UK passport). You won't get on the flight without it.

Was the thing you did on the flight not a customs form? That's totally different.

when did you go to NY? ESTA is (reasonably new)...before it came in there were 2 forms to be filled out on the plane (one green, one white)...now only one (the white one which is the customs form).

You won't get on a plane without an ESTA in place.

The benefit of buying r.com vouchers in advance is you can make use of the discount codes when available as Froggit said...there may be discount codes when you are there...plus you may need to have the certificate printed out (though I notice they have an app now - haven't looked into it).

lesley74 - glad you got there OK despite a few hiccups and hopefully you can get the OH up and about shortly. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We will also look for some deals on restaraunt to :D
    Halifax loan - 6800 - 198 DD a month
    Barclay card 0% - £2000 - £150 DD a month
  • getting the bug again now and starting to plug dates into travel sites! :D
Interestingly, just logged into MLife and put in 8 nights over Easter for Vdara and it comes in at $881. seems decent?

Make sure you use the official ESTA site and not one of the scam ones

    https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov

It is $14 per person, no more

If you went to the US 4 years ago you should have had an ESTA then, but it only lasts for 2 years or until your passport expires.

Keep on finding more and more places that we fancy eating at! The latest one is Seredipity 3, really fancy trying their frozen hot chocolate, anyone tried it? Is it as yummy as it looks?

Not tried it, but its on my list, the reviews for the food aren't that great from what I've seen, but the frozen hot chocolate and desserts are meant to be amazing!

I tried the Frozen Hot Chocolate when Serendipity 3 first opened. Wouldn't rush back to have another one.

we had the frrrrozen hot chocolate in NYC - it was good, but we haven't ordered it in Vegas went for a shake instead.

hubby had a great steak and egg sandwich there last time we went - it was ridiculous...we could have shared it between us...I tried a bit and it was yummy...I had something I really liked too...first time we went I had some sort of chili cheese dog that I liked...it's not cheap though...but it's another one of those places that's quite nice to sit on the patio.

found the photo of the steak & egg sandwich.

Hi all Back from Vegas yesterday and had a fantastic
    time.

    Highs- The Signature -WOW!

I'll be honest. We we're on a strict budget for this trip and I hired privately from Owners direct at Signature. I was slightly worried, but didn't need to be. The room was fantastic, surprisingly, although we could have done with a 2 bed, the 1 bed was fine as there were two sofa beds in the lounge, the furnishings were beautiful too.

The staff at this place were top notch and really went out of their way be attentive and helpful. I would certainly return here

MGM Grand- loved the pool here. We only went once We just didn't have the time, lol, but we loved the pool here

The Mirage buffet-This was beautiful-loved the food The service was brilliant. Has a Travelzoo voucher-2 Dinners for $39. For the level of quality-this was a steal

Paris Buffet- Slightly below Mirage, but still beautiful food in my book. The food and service were lovely. I had a groupon for this I think $36 for 2 and again brilliant value.

Rock and Ritas- Again a Groupon $30 for $60. Terrific Value! I really enjoyed my meal here and so did the kids. It was very busy here, but the food was delicious.

Seafood shack at the mirage-Groupon $40 for $80

The service here was brilliant. They really went out of their way for you. The food was nice. It's not just seafood, they do chicken and burgers too. This was by no means the best meal, but a very good dining experience

Rainforest cafe- I bought a Landry select card last year, so for my birthday month got credited $25. We had breakfast here and really enjoyed it. Under $50 for all of us and were stuffed!

Ellis Island-What can I say If you want cheap and a throw back to old vegas-come here. This was a 5 minute walk from the Signature. The place is clearly a hit with the locals. There are no frills here The portions were huge. I paid $65 including tip for 3 steak dinners, chicken wings, drinks, deserts, and a couple of burgers. The portion were very big. I really enjoyed this meal.

Gondola Ride- Cheesy I know, but with the temperatures soaring, the Valley of fire was off the list for my birthday so I did this and It was such a laugh I also did the dolphin habitat thing. I thought this was quite good. I has free tickets from MYVegas though.

Mini grand prix las vegas- Go karts on rainbow road- brilliant fun. Slightly pricey if you have 4 kids though $80 for an hour-ouch!Photome thank you for telling me about this, the kids loved it!

Outlets at Primm- loved the drive there and the mall

Hollywood- We had mixed feelings about whether to go and ended it winging it. It was good. Wewent to the grove, the Beverly centre, the farmers market, got lost somewhere in the Hollywood hills and saw the most amazing houses and views of the hollywood sign, lol.

Recycled percussion-Brilliant show-Groupon deal $95 for all of us

Veronica Voices $12.50-VIP seats for all of us.Again Brilliant show

    The Mega Bus

We used this to get from Vegas to LA. Again, mixed feelings until we used it. This was a great economical way to get around the states. The buses have Wifi and everything was orderly. The coaches were lovely and clean and you were not left in the middle of nowhere.

    Santa Monica

We went to the beach for the day and loved it. There was American football training going on here, on the day we were there and gosh I felt like a cougar in training

Youngest DS 5 thanking me for the best holiday ever-"even if you are very old now mummy"

    Lows

The Jet lag hit us hard until about day 10 so we did not do half of what we wanted to do,bit still had a great time.

I had a thumping headache for the start of the trip and was a bit unwell for a lot of it. This meant, I didn't drive all the time. The show was going on regardless so if I wasn't up to it we took cabs.

Realising I was stood right next to Karen G and only realised after reading the dibb two days later when you described yourself. I was the lady in the red dress and jacket

I've probably forgotten loads as i'm still jet lagged. We had a wonderful time and I will always remember turning 40 with such fond memories
:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:
