Yeah it's booked. When do you think I should email? Is now too soon?

it can't hurt! how i understand it, is they'll put a note on your booking on the system... so don't be surprised when you check in, they say congratulations!

even if you just say you want to do something nice for your wife, do they have any suggestions? it's just like using the concierge service, but online.

even when we stayed there last time (just a holiday, no occasion), they said 'welcome back mr. matthews, it's a pleasure to have you staying with us again'. such a simple thing, but makes you feel good and welcome!

Are you sure you ought to be marrying an man who *really* wants to see Elton John? ;)

Only kidding - I'm seeing Donny and Marie in a couple of weeks.

    LOL

Donny and Marie are back 3/9 and the show is been altered to allow for Donny's recent op (did serious muscle damage falling off a table during the show) so I'll be interested to hear about the show.

    MSE Florida wedding .....no problem
  • As we're going for our honeymoon, I'm thinking of emailing our hotel too. I would never have thought about doing that until I read about someone who had done it (a few pages back), but I'm still really unsure of how to word it and what to put?

Oooh am I getting fed up now lol

Looks like we are staying and extra night on lv - now considering the vdara for a hotel as MGM grand is prriiiicy for that extra night.

I so wish we were doing NYC again, doing that is so much easier lol - not to mention I'm stating to think I'm gonna like Las Vegas haha

Had you not thought of staying at the Platinum, it's a favourite of a few of us on the board. 1000 sq. ft. suite with balcony, full kitchen, WASHING MACHINE & DRYER, Jacuzzi tub, his and hers basins, separate shower, separate lounge and bedroom, heated indoor outdoor swimming pool. And if you start at Bellagio and are staying at either MGM or Mirage I will beat you back to either of those, probably Vdara as well, and be in bed before you reach your lift. Probably cheaper too with our special MSE discount code (Derek's email addy) lol. ;)

Just trying to make things more difficult for you.:)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    You're not helping lol ;)

We're struggling because we really don't know how much we're going to like lv.

We have decided we will do the red rock canyon tour, most likely on the way through when we drive to lv.

We've decided to do that day tour to the go on the bus.

We can't decide if we should go from lv to Palm Springs or to San Diego. San Diego is close enough to do in a day from la if we wanted to.

The hardest thing is figuring out when to do rest days, I'd love to get to sequoia national forest, but am struggling to find out how far north you would have to go to get at least a bit of the experience of scale involved.

At some point we are going to have to sort our second visit list :D

I was thinking of suggesting the Platinum too...can't be that bad considering there's 3 of us on here all overlapping there next month! It's good if you have a car too, as you will be able to stop at the shops on your way in and put some drinks in your fridge. It's also possible to take your own drinks to the pool at Platinum (unlike other hotels). And you can get a good deal via Derek as Stoneman says.

You would need a Princess Suite to get the washing machine though, I suggest strip view also for a first timer in Vegas!!

Whos derek? Given I now need those extra two nights I now need to greatly reconsider options - if we go to the MGM we will deffo need 1st/2nd Nov somewhere else as the MGM for those two nights is more than the 4 we are already staying if we book.

I know many here aren't fans, but after spending many many hours online looking up best prices for each hotel for each night of our stay (and subsequently putting it all on a spreadsheet to compare!), I managed to get a good saving on best price that I had previously found at TI by using Priceline. I'm planning on staying Fri - Mon and my Priceline "winning" bid was $100 less than the best offer I could find using codes for the hotel.

For anyone thinking of staying in TI, Mirage, Palazzo, Venetian or Wynn I would recommend give it a shot.

Incidentally, the new Downtown Grand is taking bookings directly by email. I've booked 3 nights the week after it is due to open, but going to book Main St or GN as back up!
