Literally went cheap as the first night we won't hit the hotel till midnight - courtyard lax el segundo - everything away from lax get expensive so we weighed up fuel, car and courtyard and the sums made sense :)

, relaxing by the pool ..oh and getting married ...whilst we are there ... He also *really* wants to see Elton John - so that's an easy stag night sorted LOL (My MOH says she wants to see Elton so she's going on the Stag -I'll go see Donny and Marie with the girls....unless the budget expands to afford both :)

Are you sure you ought to be marrying an man who *really* wants to see Elton John? ;)

Only kidding - I'm seeing Donny and Marie in a couple of weeks.

Anyone got any thoughts on this tour?

Or recommendations on tours of this type? It looks like, having shown the other half the distances involved that we might do a day trip to the GC and stay in Vegas a few extra days :)

when we did LA in 2008 we stayed at the sofitel. Lovely hotel across the road from a mall too so was handy for shopping

For the price, that sounds like a really good deal! It'll be a long day though, lots of travelling, but I guess if you're devoting a whole day to it, then it doesn't really matter.

I'm still looking through various places - getting bored now - too many options and too many prices lol

Vdara looks nice, its on my list at £286.

We're not drinkers as such, we don't really gamble and we're not 4 am partiers. Kinda think I might be setting myself up for a fall here lol!

we're exactly the same... and have now been 3 times :D

i can thoroughly recommend the Vdara, it's not bang on the strip, doesn't have a casino and so is really relaxed... the rooms are spacious and have a really nice 'homely' feel to them. we usually get up earlyish, hit the pool for a couple of hours, go out for the rest of the day/early evening and are back in the room, usually by 10ish, sometimes earlier! but it's a nice hotel to come back to, because it is quieter and very relaxing. and it's connected to the Bellagio, so you can be 'on strip' pretty quickly. for us, it's perfect!

we always feel we want to try another hotel, but are so relaxed at Vdara, we've always booked there!

I'm planning on doing that exact trip in May! Still unsure of doing the south rim or the west with the skywalk, decisions!

Think its like a 7am start then you get back to the hotel about 7pm so its quite full on but will be worth it hopefully.
