Ok, so here's another view to put into the mix! If I had to choose, I would also choose the Mirage, purely because of the location. I've never stopped there, but it is a really nice hotel. Don't get me wrong, we love the MGM too, but I don't ink I'd want to stop there, I like something abit more central.

    nooooooooooooooooooooooo! :D :rotfl:

Ok let me ask a different way, of the two I take it the Mirage is the quieter...right?

I suspect they will still be nice rooms and anything 3* + in vegas is 4/5* anywhere else and half the price lol!

We were not sure about splitting hotels as might 'lose' a bit of the day waiting to check into each of the hotels etc and fear we will waste time when we don't have a great deal.

I might just bite the bullet and book the Paris for the full stay, I just want the 'vegas experience' you feel as in the films lol

Maybe i'm just worrying for no reason and £407 is still a good price and can maybe get an upgrade, sorry for my rant :)

    *edit*

LOL!!! Just went back on to book it and its gone up to £411! It's just going up up and up! haha BOOKING IT NOW! :p

Yes you are worrying for no reason, sometime too much info is bad.

There is nothing wrong with a standard room at Paris, they are better than decent. I used $20 "tip" there to get a high floor with a strip view, so looking at the Eiffel Tower.

    You will love it!!!

EDIt I hadnt read as far as you booking it...good for you, it is great place to stay

I've stayed there and Mirage, and would stay there again in a heartbeat for the same price.

Not sure what those suites are.......they have studio, one bed and two bed suites. All had balconies.

Not sure what you mean by quieter?

The MGM has 5500 rooms the Mirage a few less, they both have great pools. they both have bars, restaurant,s casino.

The Mirage is easier to navigate and is central.

The MGM is waaayyy to big for me (I have stayed there twice), and takes to long to get from room to...anywhere, and is to far from where I like to be

BUT if you want to experience a large room (call it a suite) then the MGM is prob for you

We would prefer a view of the fountains if that's possible from the Paris?!!

I've now got to ring up and confirm this resort fee! gggrrrrr

Im hearing a fair few reviews saying lobby noise can be loud at the MGM - suppose with that many rooms it depends where you are lol.

Has anyone managed to get LCU pricematched by the Mirage? presumably difficult now it says call us on the links?

It's unlikely she would just take the $20...but I don't like handing it over with our passports, I feel silly (and I know I have said before many times once a check-in agent said 'what is this?' and then I felt stupid and stuttered through my 'well...hrm....you see..if...I...but...' before I got something like 'much good room, yes, please, you give?' or something not far from that out - I was tired and my little planned speech just vanished - and I had not expected her to ask that question..I normally have it in my hand, visible, when asking 'are there any complimentary upgrades available'? They know very well if the answer is yes, they get the $20 without the super secret stuff. I know some are a lot more comfortable about it than I am. I do not mind doing it my way - just asking the question...you don't ask, you don't get after all. I normally know what I would like (within reason) in terms of an upgrade so if they ask I can say.

A P-room would be a very good upgrade but probably unlikely...and yes you can see the fountains from some of the rooms at Paris - they are across the street.

but if you are arriving on a Saturday, please do manage your expectations on an upgrade...if I had to guess it will be the day you're least likely to be successful...I would go in assuming your success rater will be zero and you will be pleasantly surprised if one does happen.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Not sure I am any the wiser about noise.

The Lobby? do you mean check in, if so all check in areas are busy, but miles from rooms.

If you mean casino then all casinos are noisy but again you wont hear that in your room.

Of course you may get noisy neighbours but that can happen anywhere

Asking for a high floor helps IMO
