Wife is on the mend and whilst not fully healed, it looks like we will now be going to Vegas (less than a week now until our trip to Chicago so will be there in around 2 weeks), I've just got to sort out some travel insurance to cover the new 'conditions' (aka. how to quickly lose £250), so, random question...

Does anyone know of anywhere we can pick up a frame whilst in Vegas, that could be used to display numerous poker chips we have collected? They seem a bit more common in USA than here, and assume a souvenir shop may do it but has anyone seen them anywhere? - something a bit like this but Vegas orientated: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HARLEY-DAVIDSON-26-SLOT-POKER-CHIP-COLLECTORS-FRAME-6927D-NEW-/290961333617?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43bea59d71

    Cheers :)

(oh, by the way, I've had a Groupon email stating Paris buffet for lunch / tea is now on sale - just in case its of any use to anyone! - http://www.groupon.com/deals/le-village-buffet-at-paris-las-vegas-las-vegas-1 )

Good news about your wife :) From what I can see, the drinks are not unlimited with this Paris buffet, unlike the last one :(

nvh, glad your wife is on the mend.

Have you thought of looking in the Gamblers General Store on Main St, Downtown? They might have what you want, or be able to point you in the right direction.

    Is THIS what you mean?
Excellent - thanks pebbles - yeah, that is the sort of thing... I was hoping there'd be something with Vegas as the background tho, or I may just end up making something (like stoneman did I think??) but maybe they have extra stuff in-store. We'd also found this place selling similar stuff: http://www.spinettisgaming.com/retail-store/ @ Spinetti's Gaming Supplies, 810 S Commerce St, Las Vegas, 89106

has anyone ever seen the Monte Carlo food credit reward available on MyVegas? I kind of like the idea of that one as it doesn't seem to have a minimum spend.

Hubby finally got one today - thought he had one at the weekend but it was gone by the time he got his detail in and submitted...I read a tip somewhere to copy (ctrl-c) your email address before you go to start stalking the rewards - that way when they come up and you click on through you just have to paste (ctrl-v) your email in so saves valuable seconds...hubby has a long email address so it was particularly useful.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

They do the boring cars like Lambo's and Ferrari's, etc, but figured muscle cars would be a good way to go!!!
1 driver + passenger = $500 , but unsure if that includes insurance for us Brits......

I'm booking this for my OH. I haven't yet seen a bad review of it online and I think he'll love it. :)

    Morning all....
One thing I remember seeing on my way back from Red Rock was a bunch of nice cars....... all had banners on the window, so I remember checking them out in Vegas, but turned out couldn't book it in as didn't have the time left when we were there, but I (we) are defo doing it next year...

Only reason I am posting this, is because it just sprung to mind! Oh and because I just booked the Corvette with Hertz.co.uk for 4 days, using that to drive to LA for the 2 days..... (I hope these cars can take 2 suitcases + 2 mini cases! :D:D )
£410 its cost me for the car, not cheap, but I do plan on doing probably 800 - 900 miles in it! :D

That driving experience looks good all be it a bit expensive for 15 minutes behind the wheel in each car, I am tempted though.

I have driven a Corvette before but only on a track, that was fun.

What are you going to do with your cases as I don't think they will fit in, the trunk is 11cubic feet

We have a Grand Queen booked for MGM next year - Thomas Cook would only give the option of Grand King or Queen unfortunately so will have to see if we can upgrade on arrival.

If not the Grand Queen looks decent enough - has anyone stayed in one of these?

As I mentioned earlier, we have stayed in a Grand King several times and the only difference is that a Queen has 2 x 5ft beds compared to 1 x 6ft bed.

Our most recent stay was in May and I am sure you will be more than happy with the room. They have very recently started charging a bit extra for a view, however you may strike lucky at check in.

Also the MGM are not noted for even offering an upgrade, free or otherwise. You could ask at check in as they were offering upgrades to a suite for an extra $30 / night for a while.
  • Not come across this before, I'm sure a few of you have checked it out? Might be of interest to some!
