Thanks for your input.
Yes thought about the name changes, all that stuff will be done after the honeymoon I think, less hassle.
Whats the 'normal' price for a direct flight return to the UK in May?
I remember back in Sept 2009 when I last went to Vegas I got a return flight from Glasgow with 1 connection in Philly for £332! Those days seem long gone!
Cheers
I went out in Feb and it was around £700 and that was using miles+, I've looked a few times since for May and that was mid £800's.
In April I caught one of the VA flash sales and booked end of October flying in to LA and back from LAS for £597.
I have a habit of checking a couple of times a week using notional dates and every now and then something pops up, but I'm in the situation of being able to grab deals and sort leave usually to suit.
One thing I do is before I start looking is I flush out the cookies to remove any memory, as that may affect what you can get offered on some sites.
I always go direct, the difference in the price is not that much really and the extra time in town is offset in my mind for the cost of a couple of hands.
I fly in to LA specifically for the Breeders cup and stay at the Commerce casino, not a cheap weekend but it can sometimes wipe it's face, it's a weekend on its own than cost $2k-$3k all in so a hundred or so in the difference on flight costs is nothing really.0 -

In Internet Explorer, its: CTRL + SHIFT + P (called inprivate browsing)
In Google Chrome, its: CTRL + SHIFT + N (called incognito browsing)
Both have the same affect as clearing your cookies etc, but purely for the session that the browser window is open for0 -
for those of you who have booked show tickets via My Vegas have any of you
done so after it went down to one per person? I'm assuming that if both me and
my hubby redeem for a ticket to a show - then we can call and give them both our
codes and get seats together - is that how it works?
Yes - but whoever rings up needs both redemtion numbers AND both M-Life numbers. And it can take a while. I was on for 30 mins on Monday booking our shows but got everything we wanted (and sat together LOL)Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
Groupon question....does anybody know if I have an expired voucher for scoot city can I use it to rebuy the same offer?
I know I have the value of 2 x $125 vouchers so could buy one tour for $250 ( I think) but they are currently on groupon for the same offer of $125 so can I exchange my 2 expired vouchers for 2 valid ones?
Does that make any sense?0 -

Hmmmm. I'll be honest, I have no personal experience, but on reading this:Groupon is a service provider for the Merchant identified on the voucher and the Merchant is the sole issuer of the voucher. Vouchers have two separate values: (a) the “amount paid” and (b) the promotional value. The “promotional value” is the additional value beyond the amount paid. Together, the amount paid and the promotional value equals the “full offer value” of the voucher. For example, if you pay $20 for a voucher that gets you $50 of goods or services from a Merchant, the full offer value is $50, the amount paid is $20 (this amount does not expire until it is used or is refunded), and the promotional value is $30 (this amount expires on the date stated on the voucher unless expiration of the promotional value is prohibited by law).
If a Merchant or venue refuses to honor any voucher, Groupon will refund the amount paid upon request in the original form of payment, or will credit the Groupon account of the purchaser with an equivalent number of Groupon “Bucks” for future purchases on the Site. Groupon Bucks do not expire. Need a refund or have a question? contact us here or call 1 (877) 788-7858 (Monday through Friday, 9-5 central time). Vouchers are not redeemable for cash, unless required by law. Unauthorized or unlawful reproduction, resale, modification or trade of vouchers is prohibited.
1) contact Scoot and book a date, confirming they will honour the voucher still
2) contact groupon and get a "bucks" refund and redeem against the current offer
Can't see why either option wouldn't work. At least if you try option 1 though, you have the justification to do option 2 tho
The above was taken from here, which has a link on the "contact us here" element: http://www.groupon.com/terms#terms-of-sale0 -
Thank you, appreciate you taking the time to do that. I will try option 1 first, if no joy go for option 2!
If I am able to do something with them I will be happy as thought I had lost the $250 I originally paid when we couldn't go on the tour last year.0 -
my weekly US travelzoo email includes this -

Hi all,
Looking at direct flights for next year to Vegas, as usual, it sucks
However, I can see in-direct flights with BA to vegas for £629, that originate in AMS, and then a 2hr stop at Heathrow, then direct to Vegas.....
I wonder if its possible to book such a flight, but then inform the airline you cant board at the originating location, but can you board at the connecting point instead ?!
Or would the tax issue prevent this ?0
