It is -there are some amazing flight deals from Europe to USA and Asia and of course those extra legs often earn extra frequent flyer miles too !

The mileage running forum on flyertalk is a bit of an eyeopener if you've always flown direct :)

We have booked for next year flying from AMS. £70 BA flight in the morning to Amsterdam to position, checking in the luggage for the LHR/LAS leg at T5 so travel to AMS with just a roll along. Start the trip from AMS land at LHR, a couple of hours in galleries club lounge, then onto LAS. Now here is a good tip, when planing the return change the departure airport in London that you are supposed to get the flight back to AMS from, we chose LAS/LHR/LCY/AMS, this way your luggage gets offloaded at Heathrow and your car breaks down so you are unable to take the last flight from London City. you may not have to do this but there has been tell that trying to get your luggage only ticketed through to LHR when you are only there for a connection could run into trouble if you get the wrong ticket agent at LAS
Really not rocket science to do, and the saving on doing this is over £3,000
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I agree - although leaving a big gap also works eg on my routing instead of the first available connection at lunchtime-I have an 8pm flight to Dublin - worked like a charm last time -I said I needed my bag to shower and change . TBH no-one batted an eye at it though -but I'm not even sure you *can* interline luggage VS to EI anyway.

Often though there is only £10 or £20 difference between ticketing DUB/LAS/DUB and DUB/LAS/LON as most of the tax is departure tax anyway.

I'm a little wary of a tight connection on the way out though and always build in delay time getting TO Dublin as it is a seperate ticket.

Stoneman did you ever post the full story of your San Juan mileage run -I remember you posted saying you were delayed but didn't see the outcome ?

    Morning all :)

If i had paid $60 to see Criss Angel, i wouldnt be best pleased, maybe that kind of show aint my thing ?! ($30 would have been ok ! :D:D )

But watching it via myVegas, then yeah, it did work out to be OK, some of the things he does is mind boggling! Its worth doing if you have points to use up on myVegas, and although i read some say its a bad show, i can honestly say thats untrue!
Its good, you just need to appreicate magic to enjoy the show!

And in relation to the first thing you do when you arrive in Vegas ?
In my case, get a deep carpet burn on my foot! ;););) :rotfl:

    Hi,

    Going to Vegas in May 2014 as part of my honeymoon my journey is going to be;
UK (preferably Glasgow or Edinburgh) to Las Vegas (4 days in LV)
Vegas to LA (3 days in LA)
LA to Cancun (7 days in Mexico)
    Cancun to UK

Price is currently £919 for all flights, is this reasonable? I'm not sure what's really good or bad but this price to me seems OK. How far in advance is the best time to book? Now?, 9 months before? etc

Also looked into going via Dublin as I seen a few comments about less tax etc so I tried that and it was coming in at £769 so between the 2 of us it'll be £300 cheaper although got to factor in getting to Dublin and potentially 1 night in a hotel there as well as the extra hassle factor.

    What's the opinions?

If you're flying all legs and the Vegas flight is direct I think that is a very reasonable price, the costs of flights from last year to this has seen some increases more than I expected. So a year ahead I think you have done well indeed.

Can anyone remember how myVegas links your 'game' account to your mLife account?

I first redeemed when the game was in its infancy last year, so can't recall, but the wife was using it and I have just done the first redemption on her behalf, but it never asked for her mLife number - should it have done?

Hello guys-long time lurker on this forum since my first trip to vegas way back in 2008.

I've been reading the posts about booking from other starting destinations like dublin and amsterdam.

I've tried using the Viring/BA sites and cant seem to get the flights to start in the right destinations- can anyone please tell me what sites you use to book these flights.

This will trip will be for a wedding (only 4 of us going) so I've been asked to sort the flights. The plan is a week in vegas then a week somewhere else maybe Mexico/Carribean etc.

Thanks for your help and apologies if this is answered elsewhere in the thread.

myVegas - when you come to redeem in vegas, they can find the code (full name) and link to your mlife card that way.... if booking a show and u call in advance, they take your mlife number then..
strange how it all works!!! :D:D
