Currently writing this by the pool at the Mirage.
Have moved here after three nights at the Cosmo in a 1 bed terrace suite, paid $30 a night for the upgrade to a fountain view room. Loved the room, balcony was great. Not much luck in the casino there!
Tower suite here at the mirage is lovely, tv at end of bed and in bathroom etc. when we checked in yesterday we tried to have our travelzoo lobby bar drinks but they are only open at night now due to construction work, so they gave us $50 f&b credit for the inconvenience.
Not too down on the slots, hubby won $500 on Alan's bonus game on the hangover on the first day and we have had smaller wins since.
It's hot hot hot here! Don't think we will come back in June again!
Will do a full trip report when back, we head to utah tomorrow.0 -
Ponder away - we love laundry here.
Laundrette machines in the US are a little larger than the machines you see over here. So yes - I'd be surprised if it was more than $10 TBH
Have you thought about trying the $20 trick at Cosmo and seeing if they can upgrade you to a room with a washer.
To be honest that has been my original plan from the off HOWEVER have been reading TR's and reviews every day from various sites for past couple of months for the Cosmo and am pretty concerned about staying there, never mind being granted an upgrade. I am a bit of a clean freak and am pretty worried about the cleanliness of the place tbh (nightmare tales of rooms with used condoms in , piles on vomit:eek:, suspicious stains on bedding and curtains:eek: gross gross gross)- hoping someone who has stayed recently can ease my concerns. We got a relatively cheap deal for 4 nights so can't complain too much and of course we'll be in Vegas so could be worse, but still when you work so hard to save for holidays you want as nice as possible right?:staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0 -
One more day in the office then I'm off this evening! Can't wait. Bit of a bizarre outbound route but we're all so excited that I don't care in the slightest:
Train from London (1910) to Holyhead (2256)
Ferry from Holyhead (0230) to Dublin (0545)
Flight from Dublin (0840) to London (1000)
Flight from London (1230) to Vegas (1505)0 -
sounds almost as mental as my travelling last month!
cant believe its been nearly a month since i wentboohoooooooooo !
gotta wait till next year to go back, big booohoooooooooooo !
HAVE AN AWESOME TIME though for those who are out there now and those going super soon!!!! I truly believe Vegas to be my fav holiday destination now! (compared to Orlando!)0 -

That is even more mental than my planned route along the same lines
Fly Gatwick to Dublin Ryanair 09.30
Day in Dublin -Lunch at Bewleys
Fly Dublin Gatwick 21.30
Collect Vegas luggage from LeftLuggage at Gatwick where we dropped it off that morning
Check into Yotel right by Luggage Place and Virgin check in
Up bright and early to check in then leisurely brekkie and off we fly.
My only concern with your routing would be if the ferry was late getting in -as the ferryport and airport aren't that close. I'd have probably taken the day train and booked a cheap hotel in Dublin. How are you getting to the airport from the ferry ? Make sure you have Euros !
Cost for mine in August
Ryanair £25
Virgin (booked through Orbitz as they are the only one that allows you to route evening flight from Dublin to the Virgin flight the next morning) £530
Yotel £50 (could have done it cheaper staying at an off airport hotel but I love the convenience of no sodding about with shuttles)
Left luggage £6
OH has never flown long haul and didn't fancy changing planes on the east coast so we're treating Dublin as a "day out" before we go on holiday. He's insisting of valet car parking at Gatwick though -we tried it at Stansted last year and it was so easy and so nice to walk outside and the car is waiting when you get back instead of waiting for a shuttle bus.
Probably could have done it a few quid cheaper with one of the US carriers but I want to get OH hooked on Vegas before exposing him him to the horrors of multiple US security gatesI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

I've only heard good things about the Cosmo.
March madness and big weekends like Memorial weekend in May do attract the college crowd who can be a bit wild -but that can happen at any Vegas hotel-I really wouldn't be too concerned. There's a post directly above yours and the poster is in Vegas now and sounds very happy with the Cosmo. Maybe you could PM them as they may have missed your post what with being actually in Vegas at the moment.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

We're doing our first trip to Vegas this year with US Airways and a connection in Philly - is this gonna be a nightmare??? I'm worried now... we have a couple of hours connection time I think off the top of my head. Our entire multiple-centre trip was booked with them as the carrier so we figured the connections would work ok if they offered the fare? Should I be worrying?0 -
only thing u worry about is if your doing a flight before u get to philly, and its a seperate flight, not part of your itinary!
If your plane is late landing in philly, just means u get the next flight as they put u on it, no extra charge to u...
I flew US airways last month, AMS to Philly with 2hr wait, and then onto Vegas.... The flight landing at Philly = on time....
The plane leaving philly = Late, the same plane leaving the runway = late!!! grrrrrrr !!! we got into vegas 2hrs later than scheduled!
Nice philly cheesesteaks in the airport mind (philly), cheesesteak + chips + drink + tax = $13 ! not cheap, but nice!
Also got Chick-a-fila, Asian express, Sbarro's, Wendys...
No idea why i remember all the food places!!!0 -
Stuie - did I read you went to see Chris Angel ? and if so what did you think ? we are looking at going using MyVegas.
Reviews are poor but so where Viva Elvis and we thought that was one of the best shows we have ever seen.
Now the steakhouses have gone (or as good as) shows seem to be the only thing worth having. so we are looking at Love, Ka and Chris Angel (2 of us playing now after I finally convinced Kathy it was worth it LOL)Nice philly cheesesteaks in the airport mindTotally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
...at last, an article about laundry in Vegas that I can associate with!
