excellent
out of interest btw, is there any special way in how you have attained status with BA... always interested on how people get status, and i've always felt BA status to be quite awkward for me to achieve (though obviously you and Stoneman both have it)
There was an offer over a year ago where you could upgrade from Blue to Silver on BMI, so I took it even though we had no intention of flying BMI again seeing as they pulled the direct Vegas flights from MAN.
When BMI were taken over by BA early last year, we automatically became Silver with BA and have managed two Vegas trips on it.0 -
We were sat on the patio about that time too, almost right in front of you probably.
I had on a suit and Tracy had on a pale pink cocktail dress, did you see us?
No we didn't see you, although I'm pretty sure we saw you there a couple of years ago.
Unfortunately I'm not very observant and couldn't even describe the people on the table in front of us.
Did you have a long wait for the patio?0 -

is it me, or is the sale a bit of a cheek, prices don't seem to be much different at all0 -
I'm still seeing the old multiple hotel prices across one month with the drop downs for the different room types when logged in.
hmm...ok...I normally stick in our dates rather than looking at the calendar so maybe I will try that way instead - it can't be more annoying...if I can get past the pictures zooming around on the main page that is.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
We walked in to the room , I opened the curtains and my wife started crying she was so happy
that made me go 'awwwww!' so nice.
we quite like a nice strip view if we can get one - but our priorities are 1) non-smoking room (I smoke but not in the room and even I notice how smoky some smoking rooms smell) 2) king-size bed...we would give up a strip view for either of these preferences if we had to.
I do think one of the best things ever are the terrace rooms at Cosmo - strip view and you can sit outside and enjoy it (and smoke).Really grateful for those several folks who mentioned them here - not sure we would have ever tried it if it hadn't been for the lure of the in-room laundry.

Just sitting at McCarran waiting for our flight home. The line for security was hideous. I'm just glad we arrived early and now have time to relax a bit after shuffling along for what seemed an eternity.
My feet are killing.
We are in the bubble this time. It's my first time in 32 years on a 747, not sure i'm looking forward to the three in a row for 10 hours, but there were no pairs left when we chose our seats and we couldn't change them.0 -

I once did a mileage run to Boston to keep AA Plat status - Fare was about £240 on a special offer and I flew Heathrow Chicago (with a 10 hour stop to visit a friend there) Boston -pricelined a hotel at Boston airport and flew back on the day flight. It topped my miles up for a free ticket to Vegas and kept my status. Saved me several hundred pounds plus gave me international lounge access with both AA and BA.
I've always credited BA flights to AA as I found status easier to achieve with AA and of course it still gave me most of the BA perks.
Have had status with United recently instead but really need to research them all over again with so many recent changes and decide which basket to put all my eggs in. May challenge on AA again but not over pleased with their fares recently. Time to spend a few hours on Flyertalk I think. The only real status worth have is silver and gold. You need 600 tier points and fly 4 sectors on BA metal to get silver. Avios don't count towards status, it comes with flying.
A return club world flight to Vegas will get you 280 tier points (TP). So 2 CW flights a year will get you 560 TP leaving you needing 40 to get to silver (which lasts a year from your BAEC joining date) the trick now is to do a TP run while in Vegas to get those points.
And that trick comes with flying AA and using their instant upgrade fares to First class to fly somewhere to get them., and this can be done quite cheaply. AA award more TP per sector than BA but if you put your BAEC number in when booking on AA your points will go to your BAEC account.
Last year I needed 120 TP to retain sliver so I flew LAS/LAX/LAS with AA on an instant updrade fare in First to get them. Cost me £100. This year I need considerably more and my year runs out in June so I need them quick. So today it's off to San Juan via LAX.
BTW you can get Bronze statue with 200 TP but the only perks with that are being able to choose your seat 7 days from departure and some bonus avios when you fly.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
